From: Claire Silverspar I'm equal parts terrified and fascinated by thunder and lightning storms. If I'm away from home, I get so scared you wouldn't believe. Its almost a phobia. I end up with panic attacks. Yet once I'm home, I can look out the window and watch it....I turn all the lights off, and stand watching the lightning and hearing the thunder and the rain. I'll even go stand with the backdoor open and watch it. One time I watched a Kansas thunder storm from the top of the Wichita Holiday Inn - at that time the tallest building in the state at 26 floors. Somehow I was in a ballroom with a few of my friends and we had a 360* view of the great plains and the sky. Quite memorable. Maybe because I never really experienced them when I was a child I've never found thunder and lightening to be frightening but I can easily see how they could be.

The first I hid under the table while my mum stood at the back door watching the lightning, and the second is me hiding in a dark place - either under my bed or in my toy cupboard, can't remember - with the lights on one of my barbie houses on as bright as they will go, because I storm had knocked out the power. I was hiding for hours with the cat lol.

A huge thank you to everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday You are all awesome VV The pictures were fantastic. I won't repost them but I love them all - in fact one or two are getting saved to my hard drive for possible later use *laughs* I had a great day out and away from the comp, hence my late reply. I went out to drinks and dinner with a group of my RL friends yesterday to celebrate, had a fair amount of vino and a great time but I also celebrated last weekend by attending the ballet - a rare treat for me The Royal NZ Ballet Society were performing La Sylphide and it was really amazing. I was captivated and entranced the whole time. It was made even more special as it was a double date with a friend of mine and her fiancé. I took along a special somebody I have recently met and I have to say that things are going well so far.

From: Brenda Connolly Hey, Landlady. When did we get the mountains? Oh I popped on late on Friday night to put those up. The issue they are trying to improve is that the sim behind has changed the side of the sim that they have their great big Japanese style train station on to the side behind my mansion, it is a really good build and everything but it just towers above all the buildings on that side of Watchman and spoils the view and so I made some mountains to try and hide them whilst preserving a nice backdrop. I am not entirely sure I succeeded, I alternate between liking the effect and hating how abruptly the sides stop and break the otherwise reasonable illusion. What is your opinion of them?

I pretty much concur with you, on both the reason for doing it, and the result. Also, just my opinion, but the wintery tinge sort of puts a chill on the beachy feeling.

Hmmm, well they are supposed to be distant peaks but I could find green rolling hills instead perhaps - think that would be better?

I look at these pictures one way and you look dreamy and magical. Then I look again and you look more like the one who's under a spell. Fabulous either way.

Here I am at the party I could only get Bec to come to Though Maureen and Jerboa were there before me The only picture I was able to get of Bec has one of those lovely Emerald viewer glowy things on her head. I've found that Emerald cuts off huge section of picture, and adds glowy dots all over picture. Tends to superimpose image lifted elsewhere in sim. Not necessarily in picture. Well, I'll include my picture of Bec to show what I mean. The yellow floaty light is an odd little Emerald created image lifted from the Pac-man that was on the wall. I do not know what the white image is from that is hovering over Bec's head. Oh, and I had actually taken this image after Bec had left/crashed. One of those properties of SL. Keeping images of avatars in there longer than they are actually connected.
