Been watching it over here, but I've missed the last few episodes for my nights of drunken debauchery lol. I'm gonna have to try and catch up online.
At least its already been on over there so I might have a decent chance of finding eps online.

:p I know. The last (and I do mean the last) time I went out into the ocean on a boat was a trip to Catalina on a 30 foot sailboat. At first we were becalmed then a storm came up. I have never been so frightened in my life. My friend and I were moaning in terror as we went up and down over mountains of water, the boat seeming about to capsize the whole time. Her brother, the boat's owner, remained calm and got us there in one piece. When we were safe in Avalon harbor he invited me to sail around the world with him.
I said, "Get me back to Dana Point alive and I'm never getting on a boat again." We did have a lovely few days on the island and a peaceful trip back.

SCARY! i would have died right then and there. glad you are safe. i don't wanna imagine a world without Kaimi. :)

I have never had a bad experience on water- not that I have been on it a lot- but yeah that would cure me!

The day before Hurricane Andrew hit, we were snorkling down in the Keys... rode down to Key West and sitting in Margaritaville, one of the locals asked if we were staying for the Hurricane Party... the what? And we hightailed it back to Miami. (And almost into ground zero- a whole other story)

I would be terrified of hurricanes. I lived in Kansas 8 years and there were tornado warnings almost every day sometimes. That never scared me but then I never actually saw a tornado either. I'm not blasé about earthquakes either. I've been in less than a dozen that lasted more than 2 seconds. And pretty much every time I was going, "stop stop stop..." until it did. I'm saying a little prayer now that you will all stay safe this hurricane season, Amara.

we only get earthquakes and forest fires here, and the occasional massive mud slide. i can deal with all those. hurricanes and water related storms are SCARY!

Hiya Rioko, Mo, 3R, Brenda,

We were staying in Park City Utah at the Canyons Resort. We spent most of our time in Park City and in the nearby Wasatch Mountains.

Just in case anyone is interested (and as an aid to my questionable memory) the vacation went something like this.

Sat.
Arrive at condo.
Watch mountain bike race.
Attend Kimball Arts Festival in Park City.
See "Georgia Satellites" at free concert.

Sun.
Take gondola to Red Pine Lodge for brunch at 8100 ft.
Take ski lift to 9000 ft. and play the disc (frisbee) golf course back down the mountain.
Drive south to see Sundance Ski Resort and Bridal Veil Falls.

Mon.
Drive south again to Cascade Springs (via awesome mountain dirt road).
Visit Timpanogos Cave Natioanl Monument. Buy ticket to see cave/cavern. Walk 1.5 miles,
1200 ft. uphill to cave entrance, see cave walk back down. Awesome views from the trail. Make mental note to exercise more and smoke less.
Second visit to Bridal Veil Falls.

Tues.
Visit Bingham Canyon Copper Mine, the world's largest open pit mine, which claims to be the only man-made item other than the Great Wall of China that can be seen from orbit.
This sounds like a strange choice for a vacation stop but it was quite impressive.

Wed.
Visit the Utah Olympic Park and Museum.
Ride the zip lines along side the ski jumps.
Ride the summer toboggan.
Take a ride in a wheeled bobsled down the Olympic bobsled track. YEE HAA!

Thurs.
Visit Antelope Island in the Great Salt Lake.
Watch bison and antelope grazing.
Float in the salt water.
Use showers to wash off the salt. It is REALLY salty.

Fri.
All day drive thru Big Cottonwood Canyon and Little Cottonwood Canyon to Albion Basin. This is one of the most scenic drives I've ever taken.
Make several stop to take pics of wildflowers.
Hike UP to Cecret Lake.
Stop to watch moose grazing in field.

Sat.
Drive out to Bonneville Salt Flats for the first day of Speed Week. The Salt Flats are awesome just on their own. Being a bit of a car guy I couldn't stop grinning at the incredible array of cars, bikes, and speed.

Sun.
Attend Park Silly Street Fair in Park City.
Fly home and find computer has died from loneliness.

Mix in sleeping late, some good meals, soaking in the hot tub, a little mountain bike riding, and trying to drink as many different local beers as I could and that's about all we did.

I'll have some pics to share as soon as I get the computer sorted out.

... Thing is, while of course I do not watn a hurricane- who could want such a thing? I Love a good storm- the whole black sky lightning ozone smell- bring it on! Again I know- be careful what you wish for :) and I do not want one with harm come to anyone- but oooh a nice storm :)
I know what you mean, Amara. When I did live in the mid-west I loved those big thunderstorms. The sky would turn sort of like pea soup, all the insects would start chirping in unison. And then the sky would burst with huge crashes and huge drops of rain would pour down. I loved sitting on the front porch when all that was going on.

I'm equal parts terrified and fascinated by thunder and lightning storms.
If I'm away from home, I get so scared you wouldn't believe. Its almost a phobia. I end up with panic attacks.
Yet once I'm home, I can look out the window and watch it....I turn all the lights off, and stand watching the lightning and hearing the thunder and the rain. I'll even go stand with the backdoor open and watch it.
