I've just finished reading the entire Anita Blake series for the third time. I can't get interested in anythign else just yet, so Ima leave it for a while lol.
When I do pick up my next book, it's prolly gonna be to re-read Jane M Auel's Clan of the Cave Bear series...again.

LOL...I just re-read the last three AB books. :)

Yeah - last night I thought it was Wednesday. I was shocked when I was told it was Thursday.

I am reading several books for work, but they don't count. For myself I'm reading "Princess of Mars" by Edgar Brown Rice Burroughs and "The Artist's Guide to GIMP" by Michael J. Hammel.

The first one just in case I ever find myself a princess on Mars. It could happen.

.

Big YAY!! For Burroughs :) I loved the Barsoom novels- it's part of the road that led to Gor.

Uh oh! Do you turn left or right after Barsoom?

The reason I'm reading it is that my friend who recently came to visit once set up a Dungeons and Dragons game that was based on the Barsoom stories. My sister is interested in D&D, so it kept coming up in conversation.

Just finished Eisenhower (At Ease; http://www.librarything.com/work/171517/book/48016028) and am now reading Lindbergh (Under the Wing; http://www.librarything.com/work/435175). Was going to read Kennedy next (http://www.librarything.com/work/963572/book/48191076), but I had Under the Wing with me also and glanced at it. Ended up starting it.

Oh, what an interesting trio! :)

Rereading Harry Potter & The Half-Blood Prince. I often reread the book after seeing it's related movie.

I read all the Potter books and will prolly read them again.

They really were fun and Mr. Norman plagiarized extensively - Burroughs has exotic creatures, big fighting manly men and swooning girls and feisty ones- just not the 'adult' overtones.

Ar, matey!

I shouldn't say, but I have already been to Gor. I left with my you-know-what intact.

I only have a passing acquaintance with SL Gor- have window shopped a couple times but have never immersed as it were.

Yeck. I plowed through that whole thing, hoping that at some point it would get better. It didn't.

Yeah, it's pretty dour going, but I'm sticking with it. Next on the reading list is China Mieville's 'The City & the City'.

I've read most of the Care Bear . . I mean Cave Bear series (I see no connection with Care Bears, but that was just a one letter change and so). I think there are 2 that I haven't read. Depending on how many have been written since I last looked. Which has been a long while.

No, no...you MUST read them. Not all of them, just the first three will do.

Burroughs was a master of the "sword and sorcery" type of adventure novel. His two most famous characters are Tarzan and Captain John Carter of Barsoom...they've become iconic, in the same way that Sherlock Holmes has.

I would say that to get to Gor from Barsoom, you have to take a sharp right turn, go down, and wade through some stinky swamps. It's not an obvious path by any means.
