Ooohhh, Dirk Pitt!

"Cyclops" is my favorite Cussler book.

Right now, I'm reading an actual book as opposed to a book on CD: TR, The Last Romantic", by HW Brands. It's a biography of Theodore Roosevelt, one of my favorite historical figures.

i haven't even touched the Dirk Pitt series. i'm still plowing through the Oregon Files. but this main character (Cabrillo) promises to be as big (if not bigger) a hero. really good stories!

looking up HW Brand on wiki... seems to be a political historian. is it an easy read?

Sure, I like an audience. :o

re reading- You know, I use to read books all the time. For some reason I just can't anymore. I don't have the patience and way too much going on in my brain to focus.:( So now I just read forums and porno stories. :p

I think so. It's 800 pages, but so far it moves well. The narrative has a good literary element to it, not a dry historical tome at all.

LOL Rio!

i can't read a "slow" book. it needs to pick up right away, or i'll lay it down and find another.

the other thing i am reading is the scope and sequence plan of my new job... which is a 21 page tech plan binder. i'm still on page one, having reread the first half several times before falling asleep every darn time. LOLOL

.oO(i better actually read that thing, and soon!)

I like these folks and have read the majority if not all of what they have done together. http://www.prestonchild.com/ It is so not great works of fiction. They are in fact fluffy cotton candy fiction trying real hard to take itself seriously and failing miserably at times - but some how I enjoy it. (I also love the rotten scifi movies on the wekends on the newly renamed ScyFy - so go figure)

Just finished Eisenhower (At Ease; http://www.librarything.com/work/171517/book/48016028) and am now reading Lindbergh (Under the Wing; http://www.librarything.com/work/435175). Was going to read Kennedy next (http://www.librarything.com/work/963572/book/48191076), but I had Under the Wing with me also and glanced at it. Ended up starting it.

I've just finished reading the entire Anita Blake series for the third time. I can't get interested in anythign else just yet, so Ima leave it for a while lol.
When I do pick up my next book, it's prolly gonna be to re-read Jane M Auel's Clan of the Cave Bear series...again.

Yeah - last night I thought it was Wednesday. I was shocked when I was told it was Thursday.

POLL: what are you reading?

I am reading several books for work, but they don't count. For myself I'm reading "Princess of Mars" by Edgar Brown Rice Burroughs and "The Artist's Guide to GIMP" by Michael J. Hammel.

The first one just in case I ever end up as a princess on Mars. It could happen.
