From: Amaranthim Talon I have now been informed that we "the forum clique", are arrogant and rude. I assume that has to do with trying to explain the intricasies of a language to a non-native speaker - it must be terribly arrogant and rude to be helpful... Now grant you, I was a bit tongue in cheek in my first response, but I did rectify when I realized she was just mixed up. /me thinks Whimsycallie is right- must be the Moon. Hmm, that is a possibility for a good Friday thread. Is it arrogant and/or rude, to point out when someone is being arrogant and rude?

That girl started off badly. If you ignore her initial request for money, all of her questions were fine. But there are a couple of people who keep bringing up the "beggar" business and then it gets messy again.

From: Lindal Kidd LOL. I was kidding...I don't really have such a shirt. (If I did, though, I'd have two, so the arrow could point either way)
I bet there are times when you could wear one with arrows pointing both ways.

From: Whimsycallie Pegler I need to check the calendar. When is the next full moon? During my extremely brief ambulance career they used to say it was barometric pressure, not phases of the moon.

I forgot to mention that yesterday Le Tour De France was traveling in Switzerland. Today Stage 16 started in Martigny, Switzerland then went into Italy for a while and then back to France for the finish. The 159km course today consisted of two huge climbs (category 1, the hardest, and HC, even harder than cat 1) and two huge descents. So different riders had the advantage over different parts of the course and the field was forming and reforming into different groups as the day went on. The main overall contenders stayed together, with in front of them only a few riders who are already pretty far behind in over all time. On the second climb Danish team Saxo Bank's Luxomburger brothers Frank and Andy Schleck attacked the elite group. Kazakhstan team Astana's Spaniard, and current Tour leader, Alberto Contador stayed with them as did his German teammate Andreas Klöden and USA team Garmin's UK rider Bradley Wiggins. Astana's Lance Armstrong (USA) was left behind, as were last year's Tour winner, Spaniard Carlos Sastre, of Italian team Cevelo, and last year's second place Tour finisher Australian Cadel Evans, of Silence Lotto. Armstrong and Sastre were able to claw their way back to the others, but Evans, who has been plagued by bad luck since the first day is now too far back to have any real hope of a podium finish this year. The final descent to the finish was a guelling 30km long, full of curves and hairpin bends at terrifying speeds. Some riders are much better at this kind of thing than others. One of the most loved and experienced riders, German Jens Voigt, of Saxo Bank, had a horrific crash while flying downhill on the last descent. It looked as if he braked for a slight bump he saw the riders in front of him go over. But his front brake went harder than the back and his back wheel came up slightly, causing him to lose control and slip on a painted white line. Then he slid, at high speed downhill, a long way, on his face, chest, leg, trying to roll. All I know of his condition, now, is that he was taken to the hospital and is now out of the race, poor guy. The deserving winner of today's stage was Spaniard Mikel Astarloza, of the Spanish team Euskaltel-Euskadi. Also worth mentioning is Itallian Franco Pellizotti of Italian team Liquigas who added to his King of the Mountain competition points today by leading the race over both of today’s rated climbs.
