Just got a notice that Sin Skins is closing - $10L for skins :D

I've graduated to many other more detailed skins, however, I still pull these out now and then as I think they are lovely, and were the first I used when I came inworld. Sort of a nostalgia thing for me.

Come to find out that they are not closing but they are retiring all of the 2.0 skins. My notice gives no date on the end of the sale, but everyone says it is a lagfest there right now.

I would like to now take this time to strongly note that we did not, in fact, eat Claire tonight at the Hangout. Despite what the pictures might show. Of cats and nekos tossing around fish that shockingly have similar fins as to Claire's fins.

Claire, I again strongly note, was not eaten at the hangout. Do not worry, do not panic, remember your towel.

There is something fishy about this.

Heeeey, wanna see something cool?

Here's a picture of Jupiter that was taken earlier today:

Now you probably didn't notice it right away, but near the south pole (which is at the top of the photo, because that's how telescopy works), there's a really dark spot.

I know it looks tiny on the picture, but remember how big Jupiter is. So that tiny spot is actually HUGE. It also wasn't there yesterday. What does all that mean?

It means that earlier today something HUGE collided with Jupiter. Like, massive. Roughly the size of a comet. Oddly, we didn't see whatever-it-was coming, so it sort of caught everyone by surprise.

Oh don't worry, I'm sure there was a camera of some kind pointed at Jupiter when it happened, so we'll find out exactly what it was. But it'll take some digging and analysis and stuff. Really cool, though.

That is really cool! So why would a collision make a dark spot? Did it punch a temporary hole in the upper clouds? I know a comet collided before that we caught pictures of, but I forgot what it did after the initial bright flash.

What troubles me is the mysterious hexagon at Saturn's north pole no one has satisfactorily explained to me . . .

Howdy folks!

I understand that the RFL sims may only be up until tomorrow morning. If you haven't visited the RFL Anatomica sim rush on over there. I highly recommend it. Educational and a bit of fun as well.

Anyone old enough to remember "Fantastic Voyage"?

I have been watching the History Channel's programs tonight on the moon landings from 40 years ago... It is so hard trying to explain to a 17 yr old what it was like to experience that. What it mean't not only to the US but the rest of the free world. And the kid is bascially in to both history and hte sciences but it is something I just can't describe to him.

It would also appear that some builds are already being dismantled.

Wow! This is one of the most interesting things I've heard about in a long time. Thanks Cody!

In the middle of the night Kaimi sneaks in pictures of her cats.
My husband took this of Frank and me while I was asleep.

I took this one of Jadzia and myself.
