Thanks for the reassuring post. It might do me some good to get back in touch with these people. You can't really go back to the old gang and expect it to be like it was, but they were a big part of my life. Besides - they were used to my long silences even back in the day. It's good to know you can turn the thing off. I don't want to become a part of the Hive Mind just yet. Hi Weston - my university got all fired up to use Facebook, so we all made pages....and then people started coming out of the woodwork. As Elora and others have said, if you get friendship offers, you can choose to ignore them...and for the non-confrontational part of me, the best part is...those doing the offering do not get a message saying you've "ignored" them! (of course, when they don't get the "XX has accepted your offer", it could be a clue, but still...  )I hardly ever leave comments on my page...but I have found it interesting to look at long-lost friends' comments on their pages!  |

I had about 5 minutes of wigging out until I was able to make contact, and confirm that all was well (thankfully, not on either train). Poor Jerboa...when I came inworld last night, I crumbled in delayed relief, and he just held me close. *smiles warmly* |
