i thought i was having issues for two days, then realised the new house has 56 1024x1024 textures. 56 of them! can you believe that? its just madness.

Important rl advice.
Always make sure at least one other nearby relative owns a larger house than you do. That way family events will be held at their house and you aren't stuck with a house full of people for days at a time.  |

I'm definitely through kvetching about Zindra or pretty much anything LL does from now on for that matter. Let the prims fall where they may. Good move, Brenda. It is and always has been out of our control. A bit of discussion can be interesting, but getting worked up over it is pointless. Something I'm figuring out for myself in other arenas. I must also admit to some schadenfreude. A part of me is hoping the whole Zindra scheme fails miserably, that LL's "Millions of unheard voices" never materialize, the corps never come back and LL gets spanked. Then maybe theywill realize there are plenty of people who will throw money at them already here, and leave them alone. They may not get the results they want, but it won't be a disaster, I think. _____________________

The idea was, how a big family went about their lives; but he cheated on her and she cheated on him and the cameras were rolling (cause of course they're celebs now) and.....now she filed for divorce yesterday and.......sigh. Is that enough? |

I am in one of those despairing of SL moods. I hope I am just tired. I am really not a change person. I can handle some changes, but I like a bit of continuity. That said SL really forces me to stretch and learn to contend with change better. I will be glad when this whole Adult content thing is said and done. It seems to me they are borking several things to get it rolled out. So, it looks like one of those long bumpy rides until our SL experience smooths out a bit. I think I need to take a couple days to just relax and do some exploring. Maybe finally get some snapshots up on a flickr account. Anyhow, hope everyone is doing fine in thier own adventures. oooh...relaxing and exploring sounds like a great idea! Just what the doctor ordered. I can't wait to see your flickr pics afterward! |

Sorry to hear you're under siege. *hugs* I know what it's like to feel like the house is going to explode, from the sheer number of people in residence, from the noise levels, and the chaos, and lack of privacy, and.... But wait...Can't you just, you know...use your Jedi powers and zap them out of there? Or...we could..."arrange" to have your water turned off...or...or..your air conditioner could go on the fritz....would either of those options work?  |

Ok, I've now "heard" two audiobooks on my iPod. Nonfiction went well. Fiction was . . . annoying. I chose a book by one of my favorite fiction authors, a book from a related series to the one I've read, but not one I've read. The sample had a man reading about a man following another man. The man character is a woman. It is difficult . . . extremely annoying to listen to a man putting on a very fake effeminate voice to pretend to be female for the parts that corresponded to female characters. Again, the main character is female, and the sample available to be heard involved the narrator narrating a snippet from the beginning of the book, which involved a man.
I've picked up a third audiobook, another nonfiction one. I'll see what I'll see. I like being able to read as I walk from work to somewhere to eat. Seems odd to sit there with headphones on listening to a book as I eat lunch. |
