From: Nika Talaj Same thing for system hair (you know, the sliders??) and system shoes, they get baked in and are lag-free. Long ago, I made a more-or-less acceptable system hair style for occasions like this, it was fun to do and at least you're not bald! Robin Sojourner also used to sell some very nice system hairs, for which she had her own (non-built-in) textures, may still do for all I know. You can get them in her shop on Livingtree. She also sells prim bangs to match the system hair. I wear this hairstyle to reduce ARC when I am going somewhere that is bound to be hellishly laggy. Then I go and look at all the people with ARC numbers in the thousands and feel superior.

My report on SLB6, or a tiny portion of it. (Sorry for the long post. I usually don't read them if they are this long ) I didn't want to insult the designers, but I was completely overwhelmed with the glow at first. I went into Preferences and turned off basic shaders. I could see a lot better then and it did look impressive. Some complained of the terrible lag, but I remember when I first joined SL and tried to hang out at NCI Kuula using a marginal computer. The lag was so bad then, I had to frequently log out and clear my texture cache if anyone new came in wearing different clothes and my hard drive was burning itself up. This lag was nothing like that, and I actually found it a bit nostalgic. I remembered to walk via just tapping at the keys. That allowed me to navigate without too much rubber- banding or running over people. I looked at the Linden booth and it was pretty cool to see pictures of the real people behind the scenes. I did snatch a Linden Bear, but I don't know which are the rare ones. Some of the pictures I was frankly puzzled at as they had no caption, or the caption hadn't rezzed. I moved on to a display about agoraphobia. It was a nice build - incredibly creepy in places. Made me worry a little about my own reclusive life style , but only a little. From there I stumbled onto a build about children in SL. Of course there were a few forum folk's pictures there, but none was labeled. I recognized Mari, and I thought Pygar and possibly Toy, but I wasn't sure. The display of 6 past virtual worlds and 6 projections for the future kept me fascinated with no bells and whistles. It was just a good readable 3d web page. I took in the whole thing. Then someone came by and started taking pictures of me at the exhibit, which kind of creeped me out a little. I don't know why. Last I stumbled onto the Wikitecture exhibit. Those are the folks who won the Linden prize for ideas of what to do with virtual worlds. They have an interesting design by committee technique that is unique to the present day so I was quite interested and had a great tour guide, who would have kept me there all night if I hadn't forced the issue by thanking him and teleporting home. In truth I wish I could have stayed longer. Glow and lag notwithstanding, I'll definitely be going back. There is a LOT to see. Good night to anyone left awake. May you have utopian dreams.

OMG! 3Ring!!!!! New jammies! wooty woot. Girl, you have to organise a Forum PJ party. Maybe I can drag myself out of Shydom into a cartel get-together. I took these pics today and did that photoshop thing I do... Again, all apologies for my lack of skills when it comes to replying and participating in the forum. Please understand that I admire all of you so. My words often fail me as I tend to be more of a visual communicator rather than verbal. Oh crap... Pep? Please feel free to rip my grammar to shreds. You keep me in the shadows through your intimidation techniques. Just know I treasure you as much as I do all the threadies. Well... I love 3Ring, Mo, Elora, Amara, Seven, Lexxi, Love, Brenda... oh Brenda... Malia, Marianne, MariAnne, Treasure, Rioko, Gabby, Allegria, Lil, and all the boys (Damien, Eli, Ghosty, Weston, Jer... oh the list goes on and on) And anyone else I may have left off... this thread is epic as you all know. I shut up now.

From: Weston Graves From there I stumbled onto a build about children in SL. Of course there were a few forum folk's pictures there, but none was labeled. I recognized Mari, and I thought Pygar and possibly Toy, but I wasn't sure. If it was the large floor of photos, indeed you did see me an Pygar. I would not be surprised if Toy and/or Immy were in there too. From: 3Ring Binder I was told that the pic of M Linden had monkey faced me in the background. Well... it *is* my photo of M Linden, from the other day in Mosh, and I recall you mentioning yer face in it to be before. I think it's a fairly nice piccie of ya. They used (with permission) many photos I have taken of Linden Lab staff members over the years within their display. I also did a sizable number of the photos on Teagan's refridgerator in the display. I wonder if I should put a LM to my build out as a group notice. Hmm...

Oh crap... Pep? Please feel free to rip my grammar to shreds. You keep me in the shadows through your intimidation techniques. Just know I treasure you as much as I do all the threadies. Oh hell! Why does my supposed reputation precede me regardless of its accuracy? I wouldn't dream of criticising a sweetie like you Lula who takes pains to express yourself - unless you start posting LOLCATs of course! I will keep repeating until it gets through that it isn't the accuracy of grammar that matters, but the commitment to presenting sentiments to the best of one's ability, rather than insulting readers by not trying very hard. I am sure we would all like to see you posting more, so please don't use me as a reason not to! Pep (Anyone that wants to take up any cudgels regarding my attitude please do it in *my* thread not here.)

Thanks for the update Weston. Good puppy. I am going to go there sometime today. Try anyway. I despise lag and rather eat glass than try to muddle through it. /me throws you a couple of biscuits and scratches behind your ear.

@Eli - thanks!
@Rio - please post more "deformed" pics! (omg - you're beautiful!)
This morning I got a good chunk done of the roof of my new skyhome. It's pitched, and I was worried about doing it right. So I did the big parts. Tomorrow I fix the corner of the roof and put in a gable (dormer?)
Then I'll push it up and put the first floor under it. Fun!
Pictures tomorrow.
