I was resizing it to fit my skirt better, you pervert.:p

It sounds like something from one of those "the difference between sl and rl" lists.

In rl you adjust the skirt to fit your butt.

In sl you adjust your butt to fit the skirt.

While waiting for the lucky chair at Diesel Works, I tried out their pose chair. It was pretty hard to find an angle without signage!

They have this set of ballerina poses that kept catching my eye...

This is so adorable.

Speaking of DSN, I signed up for four categories and realized now I am a bit overwhelmed by them. How do I unsubscribe from at least two of them?:o I don't even remember how I signed up. :p

I think you just have to go back to the kiosk and touch it again. I'll see if I can figure out where it is tonight and let you know.

One of the gifties it gave me was a Photo hall set.(a Hallway that changes textures and you can take photos in it like you are in a hallway..:/ ) I would really love to find more sets like that. I went to the store but they only had two others that I didn't care for. I did get a freebie runway set though from them.:D

Anyway, here's a silly photo taken last night as I was kicked out of SL without ceremony. As I was crashing, I found myself padding along the ocean for more than a few minutes (where I was not, I had been in a store). Surprisingly, I was able to download a picture to my hard drive - voila!

Speaking of this... which I like to call The Walk of Crash... what would be the RL equivilant to this? Sleep walking? Day dreaming? Stumbling around drunk? Hmmm...

I probably shouldn't say, but I made an alt for when I need to work on stuff. Her name is Moth. I know it's a dark picture, but if you see her around, you'll know it's me.

Thanks for all the chicken soup and well wishing yesterday, folks. It's been a pretty evil nasty cold. Still have some fever this morning but I'm on the mend. Staying home again and maybe I'll feel like doing something fun today!

I didn't post yesterday for fear of infecting you guys through the cables. Wash your hands after reading! :o

Thanks - maybe she and I can take pictures together, if I find the right poses.

Kiss M'lady. :) Although our first dance was in July, the first time we really met was here, a year ago today. All because of a post about a tomato and a story about a peach.

the best fruits, really. if you ask me. ;)

Oh, Elora...*hugs* I'm sorry it's gone. It's so sad with a place that I've enjoyed, either on my own, or with someone, ceases to be.

But...I'm glad you and Ghosty will celebrate in your own special way. :)

How's the job going, btw?

Thanks Maureen, it is very disappointing. I'll get to the job thing in a sec.

@ 3Ring - It is absolutely gone for good. I had the landmark, several of them in fact because there were areas in the sim with hidden "things" there which I wanted to remember the spots for. I flew all over Necros, hoping perhaps the Owners saved at least a small area for themselves. No such luck. Oh and don't worry about Ghosty being annoyed with you. He's so NOT like that at all. He extends invites, and if people come; fantastic. If not he realizes life has it's way of getting in the way and having other things for people to do. However, try and stop by Halo Gallery if you can - the 3 new pieces are there and if for no other reason I think there is one in particular you'll find amusing as it's rather whimiscal for him.

@ Amara - When Ghosty and I first met, someone should have been a fly on the wall with the amount of conversation flying between him and I. We had a lot in common, to say the least. And, the chemistry between us was immediate. He was charming, intelligent, silly and emotionally open - a potent combination. It didn't take long for things to ignate between us, however, as I've confided in some people here, it was a bit tricky inworld for various personal reasons on both of our parts. He really wanted to meet me in person, because of these reasons and I had to do some serious thinking about crossing over into a RL situation. In the end, for us personally, taking it to that level was the right thing to do, it as it cemented it into a very important relationship, one which neither of us expected would turn out the way it did.

@ Damien - Our meeting was here on the Forum too, in that "Deviant Thread" lol. That Thread, was epic! And it was him offering me a ride in his Lambergini :)

@ Eli - I'll take "Day Dreaming" :) I excel at it.

Ok back to Maureen now!

The job. These people are at odds with each other already, but I am just going by their desires and not saying much about it.

The Office Manager had told me for training purposes, 3x a week through the end of June, then full time July onward (she leaves July 24). This was plenty of time to get me up to speed on everything I needed to know. However, I get in Monday morning and apparently, 2 of the partners had been stewing in their own poo over the weekend about exactly what my hours were during training. One of them calls me in to speak to me privately. I won't go into the whole conversation as it matters little to all of you but the essence of it was he felt that they have never given more than 2 weeks training to any employee.

So, he wanted to cut me to 2 days a week until she leaves. What could I say? I had already accepted the position. So, I was gracious about it, said ok, etc. However, that evening I realized that the pay of only 2 days, was not enough to live on. 3 days, was ok, I could get by on that (the salary is rather good). But 2 days, after commuting costs/lunch, well it would be even less than what Unemployment was giving me! Not good.

So, Tuesday, the current Office Manager and I hatched a plan. I asked if she minded that I continue to collect unemployment until mid-July, and that she hold off from putting me officially on their payroll. She could just save up all the days I work from now until then, and pay me the lump sum of them mid-July, when I'll go off Unemployment, as she is officially leaving the job. She thought this was brilliant, since she didn't like the Partners doing this to me and knowing the job, absolutely knows I need more training than they think I do. The billing is complicated and she really wanted to devote several days alone to that. So, at least now, I'll get my payroll retroactive and still collect from NYS which isn't exactly kosher, but necessary since this really just all should have been settled between the Partners and the Office Manager way prior to me walking in the door.

So, here I am, 2x a week, still plenty of time on my hands until the end of July. I'm not "unhappy" about it, but I was hoping to start getting a decent salary back into my bank account. Thankfully, I still have a good cushion in there, so it's not an issue, but still, you know? I was warned by the guy that helped get me this job (and the Office Manager herself) that these Partners could be somewhat difficult to deal with, and this certainly is my first look into it. Will have to keep on my toes, that's for sure.

On the other hand? The people in the office are fantastic, the area downtown is a huge difference from midtown as there are plenty of things to keep me occupied at lunch breaks. The commute isn't too bad (express train once I get into NYC, only a few stops) and, I got the office manual and I'm utterly thrilled with the benefits backage they offer, right down to the fact that they pay you for your subway fare! Woohoo! Nice!
