Pep (I can't be held responsible for the misinterpretations of others)

Oh, but you can. The way you constantly choose to present yourself in this forum sets an expectation about your behaviour, so it's your own damned fault when that backfires on you.

And for someone who always claims to craft his posts so carefully, to choose his words so carefully, I still believe you intended your post to be open to a very negative interpretation.

Incorrect. There is not "always a nasty interpretation in there".

*shakes head*

You're wrong on this one, all the way around.

When there is deliberate ambiguity, one interpretation always seems to be nasty. I did not claim that every post of his is ambiguous. I stand by my claim.

Pep (Permanently confused about whether slut is a good or a bad thing . . . )

If Trout calls us a slut, it's a complement. If anyone else does, it isn't.

It's a compliment, because Trout absolutely and completely adores women :D

Heh. It can be a compliment from people other than Trout too. But there has to be a shared history - an understanding between the people about what message is really being conveyed. Suffice to say, some here do not get to assume they can use that word.

Nope, I *am* very careful about what I say, but if your erroneous personal preconceptions mean that you choose to interpret my words in a way that was not intended then I *will* not accept responsibility. After my affirmation to Lexxi, you now seem to be calling me a liar - and I get *very* upset about that, so perhaps you should rethink your attittude

Pep (It seems fairly obvious that *you* are the only one with this problem here)

PS Maybe one other, in a luke warm fashion - LMAO!

I too absolutely and completely adore *most* women.

"attittude"? Are you posting faster than you can edit?

Anyway, if you choose to interpret my words as calling you a liar, I *will* not accept responsibility.

Which I took to mean that Pep was calling me a slut, or easy, or something along those lines.

It's unfortunate that you all don't know the Pep that I do. His own fault, of course, and that dry British sense of humor. But no, that's not what he meant.

Ok...I want you both to sit on your hands and count to...

..oh...heck...count until you no longer feel the urge to snipe at each other. *sigh*

*Nods* I can believe that......and even though he claims he *will* not be responsible, etc, I bet he cares that some are viewing him negatively. Not referring to all forum posters of course, just the 'regulars'.

At the risk of sounding sexist here, sometimes 'guys' get into things unwittingly and just have no idea how to really extract, and it keeps getting worse....

And off you go...
Since your quarrel relates to your comprehension (or lack of it) of my words, I feel it entirely reasonable to highlight your own inability to express yourself accurately in the thrall of emotion, which would imply that it is likely to be *your* interpretation which is defective.

That isn't a question of interpretation. I assured Lexxi that I didn't intend it to be. Quite clearly you disbelieve me, and are therefore calling me a liar.

Ok...that's it...I'ma not gonna stop singin' until everyone behaves.

Dancin' Shoes (a waltz)

verse 1:

It's her first high school dance
Her daddy just stares
at the girl where
his babe used to be

He hand's her a box
as he holds back his tears
She holds up her new shoes, he says
Try them on, so I can see

As she turns to leave
He gives her a hug
and says
Save one dance for me

chorus:

and she twirls
and she spins
as her world flies around her
and she dips
and she turns
as the music plays on
and she steps
and she slides
and gives thanks to the Maker
for a Daddy that loves her
and the new dancin' shoes she has on

verse 2:

The girl's now a woman
With a life of her own
Today is her wedding day

She wears something borrowed
She wears something new
The flowers in her hair are a light shade of blue

She says "Wait one more second "
and slips on those old shoes
Now worn and faded with age
"I'm ready, now, Daddy,
Let me straighten your tie
It's time to give me away"

chorus:

and she twirls
and she spins
as her world flies around her
and she dips
and she turns
as the music plays on
and she steps
and she slides
and gives thanks to the Maker
for this man that now loves her
and the old dancin' shoes she has on

bridge:

Then the years race by
Surrounded by family and friends
Those old shoes might be lost to the passage of time
But the dancing never ends

verse 3:

In a musty old attic
on the outskirts of town
she sifts through her memories alone

At the box in the corner
She has to sit down
It's her old dancin' shoes
From her daddy so long long ago

Shaking with age
Her hand reaches down
to hold those old shoes
and dance one more time
on her own...

chorus:

And she twirls
and she spins
and she cries for the good times
and she dips
and she turns
and she laughs at the bad
and she steps
and she slides
and gives thanks to the Maker
for her old dancin shoes
and because of them, the life that she's had

Two entirely different matters, Treasure.

I will *not* be responsible for what others erroneously read into my posts, particularly after I have explained my intentions.

But I am not worried that some are viewing me negatively, because if they are lacking the intellect to understand what I wrote and/or wish because of their preconceptions to think that I am lying when I deny their incorrect accusations, then their opinions are of no value to me.
