Good Morning, Don't want to start a new thread on this, and besides, there's no question, just thought you might like to see it. Here is a link to the SL Newspaper, MetaVerse Messenger. It downloads in .pdf format. The headline article is on the Bloodlines game, which has been pretty much talked out here but I thought you might want to read it, anyway.

The 2nd headline article is on a presentation I gave on Communicating with People with Hearing Loss, in SL and RL, a few weeks ago. The picture shown in that, while it purports to be me (Treasure, misspelled in the picture caption, too) is not me, but my co-presenter, Ladyslipper Constantine. I took the high road, and decided to ignore the picture faux pas, for the good of the whole, which was to raise awareness about people with disabilities in SL.

On page 12 (continued on page 24) is an article on the grand opening of my art gallery, on Cape Able.

I get up at 4:30AM every freaking day...

i turned down a fabulous, high paying job last summer because i found out i would have to keep these hours. no thanks. =/

(although, i seem to get up at 5 a lot lately - but i get to lounge and play SL in my jammies for that hour & a half - so that makes it's worth getting up early) :D

Yea, sometimes I think you have to play around with venues to see what works. Personally I like when art is displayed outdoors, particularly when it's sculpture. There is a place in upstate NY called Storm King; acres and acres of parkland with gigantic sculptures by famous artists. It's an amazing place to spend the day.

BTW, I love that Stonehenge idea tho. I think it's very effective. The last time I went to one of your galleries, it was only in a small room, that was several months ago. You've obviously expanded quite a bit since then. I'll have to take another peek too!

Small room? I do not recall being inside a small room. Most of the art galleries I create on my own land end up being parks or in large buildings with huge windows (first one on my own land was in a small house, but that was eons ago and as Sonia; first gallery was on Joseph's land and outdoors).

Lexxi, anything that is creative in my eyes is artistic. It's something I could never do and wouldn't even know how to begin. I will head over tonight to take a look and will definitetly pick up a few pieces to display in my home. You are an artist to those who matter... your friends

Art is subjective, so don't let one person's opinion sway you in any direction. I look at what a lot of people gush over as art in RL and scratch my head, so just keep doing what you do. If people like it, and even better, buy it, that's all that matters.
THIS !!!

Art is an expression of oneself -- nobody can say what is art in anyone's mind but their own. Some of your stuff I like a lot, some I sort of see as not really my taste, but I still see all of it as ART.

So, yes, you are an Artist.

Well, it could have been that long ago. It was quite a while since I saw your work. Long room, no windows. I definately remember that. I'm pretty sure it was a gallery, not your land. And it was not the same type of work in the photos you just posted. More realistic.

Morning Threadland- greetings to thenew baby kitties :) - Lexxi- if it is art to yuo it is art- period. Is art not supposed to express our view of the world? Give voice to what we feel inside? Literature is written art- music, sculpture- all of it. Wehn my mom crochets a lovely piece of needle lace- that is art. You chose to bring your art in-world. You chose to share it- that in itself is expression and so art. Yudo not need to explain it to anyone-

Pep- yummy churros! But my tortillas (spanish omlette) look prettier than that!

Today, in the UK, has been designated National Cuddle Day. Seems a nice idea - so I am sending everyone a big (virtual) hug. :)

Oh, that is the Prim Savers gallery (still findable in my picks). It has doubled in size (in terms of artwork there).

The stonehenge gallery had a few real world artworks, but was mostly digital mutations of my real life artwork. That gallery no longer exists in world as a seperate entity, but the artwork itself has been incorporated into the Prim Savers gallery (which previously had imports of my real life artwork).

The Cherry Park gallery has real world artwork and digital artwork. This time, though, the digital artwork was made from SL pictures I had taken. One is of Mistress.

I have something like 84 pieces in world between the two galleries. And another 20 or art pieces in my inventory that I haven't placed in a gallery. That comes to 104. I know I have 114 in there, so the number breakdown of in world/in inventory might be different. I know there are at least 84 pieces in world.

--

*meows, and purrs from all the kind words of everyone*

edited to add, re "More realistic": My artwork, the real life stuff on canvas, sculpture, stained glass, tile, etc., tends to be realistic-ish. I have a very few abstracts.
