Although, on a serious note, speaking of that. I am a bit worried. I just purchased the lot next to me right before all this s**t hit the fan. I now have 12,000 square meters on mainland, gorgeous land for that matter, on Linden protected water, very quiet sim, stunning views with nothing across from my land at all. I am concerned about what may happen to the value of this. I've sunk about $800 into it (give or take, I'd have to dig around for exact numbers, since I made the original purchase over a year ago and added another piece to it inbetween).

It's a rough decision on whether or not to hold onto it or not. The sim is so stable as far as the neighbors are concerned; but you never know with the changes which could be happening.

/me sighs

Woohoooo!!!

I took my laptop to work today (just to sync the address book, honest).

But it turns out there is a wireless network I can access with it (NOT the office's network).

Now if I just had someplace with a little more privacy than this cubicle...

I am SO envious...

Wise words. The money is long gone anyway.

I second this.

The land's value is your fondness of it. Ultimately that's what matters.

Unless you're into the land-flipping game, just look at the land for the enjoyment you get from it, not any possible future value. In theory, LL could pull the plug today, and you would be completely out that money anyway.

Well, at least you aren't like me. Who put the land up for sale right before this came out.

I have never had any attachment to the land itself. What we have done with the land does have meaning too me though. Each time I move, I am happier with how the build turns out. If I found land that I thought would work better for us, I would move tomorrow.

I am with you on that account. I moved last time, for two reasons. First, my next door neighbor was making living there a living hell. Damn good reason to move. But also, I did want to find something better; which I did and then some.

I am always looking around. I have a real estate bug in me even in RL as I work in architecture, and it's just a passion of mine in general. I always say that I can always love another piece of land as much as I love the one I'm on now as much (or house, whatever the case). I'm fluid like that. I always love where I am at that time :D

But for now, love the place, so not looking to leave. Guess I'll see what transpires.

I love the garden especially with the new walls- it is truly a haven of tranquility and peace.

I do though- get attached to the land- When I bought my first piece almost four years ago (wow!) it was in a horribly named place - Slyme - I ended up selling that 512 where my original home had been but not before I bought Terminus- it hurt to sell my little plot and Noir's that was right next to it but it was a necessary move. We now have a nice place in Intromoto (what is it with these weird place names?) with room for the castle and my ArtisTree. I would not wish to move from there. Somewhat prim poor- but I am usually in the workshop anyway.

I do understand how a person could become attached to the land itself. It just hasn't happened for me yet. Maybe if we could get rid of the lag mall next door. :)

Yes!!! That would make it perfect - although to be honest... it hasn't been as bad lately has it? Well- the other night when I got stuck trying to get outside - but otherwise, I think I have been less lagged- I iwll have to look at the fps tonight if i recall to.

Slyme. Wow that is bad. My first land was in Gorumbum and I thought that wasn't very pleasant sounding, but Slyme beats it out.

Now I'd love to live in a region called "Slyme!" And I hate selling my road-and-river-bordered land, but it's PG - which in Lindenese means G. I'm keeping a sliver of it for my toxic waste dump, though. :D

Slyme borders Misto Presto, where my store, Talon Faire, is located. If you look in my picks you can tp there and then just hop over the border. There might be land for sale- it is Mature.

~~~~~~~
Now- what does this mean: I looked up Talon Faire in search secondlife.com -it gave me this page:
http://world.secondlife.com/resident/fe3f1ca0-d683-49d8-9993-3d9104e06c5e. There I found a reference (from my picks) to Talon Faire Decor and when I clicked it- I got a Google page with this in the search: world second life place b9dd4164 cd55 9e93 3978 8b45217f73bb - and a note about the link being broken. Same thing when I clicked the link from my page to Script n Things (also in my picks).
She is home. A little dirty though. Not sure what happened to her. She started meowing at the back door, I let her in. She walked right to her dish and stared at me. I fed her and she went to sleep. She isn't one for words...:/
Oh I'm so glad she's home safe and sound!
Jes a quick brag, I s'pose. Looks like I took first place in two different categories at the the Sci Fi & Fantasy Portal photo contest. It was an interesting contest, requiring that you shoot it all inworld, with no photoshop or other post processing. Here were my two entries. one in the category "Sci-Fi Scenes" and one under "Sci-Fi Avatar"
Here's my two entries:
and
If you want to see them an the other winners inworld, they're displayed on http://slurl.com/secondlife/Info%20Island/133/95/33, and will also be shown in http://www.rezlibris.com/ next month.
Thankoo, Tex. I figgured I had a strong chance with the scene, but I wasn't at all confident with the avatar. It's jes me in a space suit, after all. :-)
