I'll see to it that it eludes your grasp if I have to spend every waking moment manipulating this thread

You have to sleep sometime.

Barney Miller would probably be closer.

Coming from a family of cops, that one was always a favorite in my house.

I've never been able to stick with "Friends for more than 3 minutes - and that was forcing myself not to change the channel. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it but somehow it's just never been able to hold my interest.

I'm with you, I hated it. The theme song was the best part. I hated all those 90's sitcoms full of whiny white yuppies who never really explained how they never seemed to have jobs but could afford nice apartments in NYC.

Up to 171 SL music acts now on my wiki (172, but one was a misspelling of another act on the list) http://exploringvirtualworlds.wikidot.com/music-acts

update: 226 music acts on there now. Found a website with a ton of names. I'm way behind now.

Cut some strategic holes, and GTG.

/me gasps in horror at the direction this discussion is proceeding, gathers up all the bubblewrap, and tucks it away safely for use next Christmas.

After all, there are children about.

I use Dreamhost too. In fact I recently set up a forum using one of their "One Click Install" utilities.

/me leans out the window of her domain and waves to neighbor Kaimi!

That's what I was going to do, but using the advanced option so all the config files, etc. would be available.

I remember Taxi as a pretty good show -

I think Taxi had some of the greatest ensemble writing of any TV show. Jim's driving test is probably one of the funniest scenes I've ever witnessed, it's cryingly funny.

I agree, Brenda. One of the funniest moments in television.

On the down side it was responsible for unleashing Danny De Vito on a less than enthusiastic public.

Hi neighbor! :) I used the advanced option too. Even though I don't know what I'm doing with php code I insist on fiddling with it blindly until I get everything customized - same with the photo album utility.

I don't know if I ever saw that epoisode. I was working second shift jobs in those days and sometimes didn't even have a tv. I only saw a lot of shows a few years later as re-runs. I do remember serious laughing at "Taxi" episodes I did see. Especially a few years later when I had actually been a cab driver.

You could say exactly the same, in justification, about alternatives to SL.

Pie (You and Amara should do something about that oversensitivity of yours; I am sure Brenda could recommend something)

are you asking me for a kiss? well..... no thank you.

Tod linked the Youtube for the clip. Check it out when you get the chance. :)

Just curious, is there a way to 'pull' all the posts over, from this thread? Or would just continue it? Probably stupid question (sorry Pep) but it's early yet.....

we cannot, for many reasons. one of which was the legalities of transferring data without permission.

I'm with you, I hated it. The theme song was the best part. I hated all those 90's sitcoms full of whiny white yuppies who never really explained how they never seemed to have jobs but could afford nice apartments in NYC.

Monica was a chef
Rachel was an assistant buyer at Bloomingdales
Phoebe was a masseuse
Joey was an "actor"
Chandler was an accountant or analyst or something
Ross was a paleontologist

and for the first few seasons anyway they lived 3 to an apt. :p I didn't watch it while it ran but I've seen lots of reruns.

I'll do it. I can delete the 2 where I confess to be hopelessly in love with Pep.

If things don't work out there, I do have a domain where I can install whatever forum software we like and get into the bowels of it ourselves if need be. (It's on DreamHost; I've been there for years and years.)

I'm behind you in your effort, 3Ring. Just saying that if it doesn't work out at that place, there's an alternative. I can give you or whoever telnet (ssh) accounts.

ok cool. thanks. :D
