I can empathize completely Key. It's difficult being involved in SL when your RL partner isn't interested. My soon-to-be ex wasn't happy at all with my involvement here. I kept it to a bare minimum around him, only logging in when he wasn't home (which thankfully was quite a bit, since he traveled on business and I currently am on a reduced work schedule).

The few times I did log in with him around, I always felt sort of guilty, and I never was doing anything to make me feel that way if he was there. Just hanging with friends, rezzing boxes, catching up on notices, etc. Only once he caught me dancing with someone; it was Chris dressed as Santa Claus, and I just brushed it aside.

I tried getting him involved, thought perhaps it might help. Also thought that when he was away on business it would be a nice way for us to communicate and do things together, but there were other reasons I also didn't want him getting too involved so I never pushed it. Didn't matter anyway as he thought it was rather insipid and silly (this, from a serious tech guy, so I found it surprising).

Obviously, he isn't my "ex" because of SL. The relationship had an issue which was not being addressed properly and I just finally had my fill of it. In some ways, SL was a saving grace for me. It became a place to make new friends, have some peace and quiet away from him, just my own little world.

There's nothing wrong with wanting some space but learning to balance RL and SL is something that comes with time. You have to get your priorities in order. It took me a while to figure that out, as I'm sure a lot of people know. If your primary relationship is a healthy one, powering down before it gets out of hand, isn't such a bad thing to learn how to do ;)

I tried to make men's clothes- i went so far as to buy templates... but you see- you need to be a guy to wear it and fit it and 'make it'. I was a guy for about five minutes and I believe I am scarred for life :eek: I cannot emphasize enough what a distrubing thing it was to see myself as a guy- I am writing this and have goose bumps! I cannot for the life of me ever see me doing that again-

last night was 24. i LOVE that show.

hubby *coff* watches idol. but hey- that's one-two hours of uninteruppted SL time for me.
I tape Idol and watch it while I'm on the treadmill. I absolutely hate commercials.

I have only scanned the Relationship one lately cause of Phil in pink undies (!!!!). I have actively avoided most of the others, commented in Sales just to keep my hand in and was about to go read the next Sky is Falling BS of SL Demise... now i am curious.. (but me is deliriously happy today and no one is going to get me down- so there!)
