The mirror should be on the ceiling above the bed.
;)

At my age, the first thought would be, sooner or later, that thing is going to fall on somebody.

Could you imagine looking up as it fell, and watching yourself rushing at yourself?

(with maybe someone else's backside to break the impact?)

Would you yell, "Look out!" or "Hold me!" ?

(Maybe I should open a thread with that question -- or better yet, a poll -- or better yet, a poll that shows the results.)

- no I cannot imagine
- yes I can imagine but I would not shout
- yes I can imagine and would shout "Look Out!"
- yes I can imagine and would should "Hold Me!"
- yes I can imagine because this has happened to me
- yes I can imagine but I was the one on top
- yes I can imagine because this is a recurring dream/nightmare
- yes I can imagine and am going to rig up the mirror tonight
- other (please specify)

From experience I've learned never put your shotglass collection on a shelf above the headboard. Especially a shelf that is just wood resting unattached on 2 metal arms. :o

OK, am I the only dope who never noticed that aluminum foil cartons have holes in each end? :o

Just received this in an email:

"Who looks at the end of their aluminum foil box? You know when you try to pull some foil out and the roll comes out of the box?? Then you have to put the roll back in the box and start over. The darn roll always comes out at the wrong time.

Well, look here:"

omg when did they start to do this thing??and it's on the plastic wrap also..
i cook all the time too and never seen this till now..
oh i wonder if my mother knows?? hehehehe :D she is gonna hate i found something she has over looked all these years..
if she doesn't know already :)

Please remind her to post the hunts on the forum:

I saw this on TV not long ago! Who knew? The really sad thing is, I pulled out some foil the other day and noticed that it was Lucky brand.... defunct since 1999. /me does no do a lot of cooking...
I do not bake - at all. And I have not fried anything with Crisco in forever. My daughter wanted to make some cookies a while back and pulled out an old container of Crisco shortening. It was buried in the back of the cupboard. It was sort of a yellowish-brown color. It had an expiration date of roughly 10 yrs ago.
:o
Like I said - I do not bake, ever.

A headboard, and footboard, should ALWAYS be attached - else some encounters get very interesting.

All decorations should be screwed in with at least twice as many screws as you think it needs.

Not much point in having a mirror then, is there?

No clue about God Powers and you cannot really get them anyway, but the Admin Powers will:
1) let you fly in No Fly areas
2) let you offer TP to someone not on your Friends list that has checked the "only let my friends see my online status"
3) let you see the media url setting for any land you are on

Maybe one or two other things that do not come to mind right away.

*Blink*

Is THAT why I can sometimes offer TP's to people off my Friends list? Because they let everyone see their online status? Doh. That makes sense. Thanks!

Hi. My name is Maureen Boccaccio, and some time ago (in the mists of time), I started welcoming new arrivals with a gold star. For those who joined the thread prior to me starting this tradition....well...too bad. :p

But since that time, for those who poked their head into the thread, either as a one-time deal, or hoping to come and sit a spell, I've tried very hard to greet that person with a cheery hello and a shiny gold star.

I come to you this evening to correct a grievous oversight.

At 1:01 pm, on Wednesday, September 24, 2008, a new visitor made his presence known by posting a response to a news report posted by, coincidentally enough, another new arrival.

I welcomed the original poster (Tomas Fulham), and distributed my bounty.

However, I did NOT greet, nor did I gift the other new thread visitor. I am here this evening to right this wrong, and ask both the slighted party and the Thread for forgiveness.

This is the post I ignored, on page 2337 (in my viewer)
/327/85/252954/1455.html#post2159242

From: someone

From: Tomas Fulham
A huge pig called Bruce has trapped a terrified woman in her home in Australia.

Caroline Hayes, 63, tried to leave her house in Uki, New South Wales, to use the outdoor toilet, but the animal bit her and shoved her back inside.

Bruce, who is the size of a Shetland pony, showed up at her home 10 days ago after his owners were unable to cope with him and let him loose in the rainforest.

Hayes began feeding the beast, but he became more aggressive, demanding more food and biting her on the leg when she tried to go to the toilet.

From: Jerboa Haystack

Bruce?

Indeed, the slight was so egregious that said visitor delayed posting again...for another two whole days: /327/85/252954/1477.html#post2162259

And so, sweetheart and Threadies, I hope you can find it in your hearts to forgive me as I say now what I wish I had said on that fateful afternoon:

Ahem:

From: someone
Hi Jerboa - glad you found us! Welcome to the thread, and for your first post here, a little giftie:

OK...now I can go shopping with a clear conscience. :D
