From: Elora Lunasea Today is my beauty day, having my hair done, hopefully going to sneak in a manicure/pedicure (I stubbed my foot on the bedroom door this morning and completely wrecked 2 of the nails so this now necessitates the pedi). Had to do my kitchen and bathroom last night because my brother announced he'd like to bring his new GF over tonight to meet us - who; BTW, he just found out is pregnant and....he isn't even divorced yet! And, already has 3 kids! And she is an illegal alien! And she has a kid already! Even more to this but why bore all of you? That's enough to give you the giggles lol. Didn't I see this storyline on "The Young and the Restless"????

Elora, I didn't realize that we had the same brother!?!? Oh wait, my brother was married only 4 months after his divorce and she's not an illegal alien, other than that, pretty much the same! UGH!

From: Elora Lunasea Dell.com *laughs even harder* If I ever have to speak to another Dell rep, I'll shoot myself. I didn't realize tomorrow was "that" day. Keeping busy is the best thing possible. Good thing there's so much going on for you. From: LittleMe Jewell I'll should be able to log in by noon SLT and can manage any time. Just give me a timeframe you need coverage for - maybe a max of 4-6 hours in one stretch, but I could also do two shifts if you need that. Since it is Friday, I'll be up late also. I'm pretty flexible, so handle anyone that is on a tighter schedule and then just tell me what you need me to cover.
I'm torn between the theme being Valentine's or just a mid-winter/pre-spring formal. Or maybe call it all of the above -- I just don't want to lose out on any Singles attending because they don't have a Valentine date (like me). How about just calling it a "Shades of Red" party?

Watermelon Pants! Since the change to the SL Blog I haven't kept up with Torley and his tutorials. However, I did stumble across this and thought it was goofy enough to share with the thread. http://flickr.com/photos/torley/3009575690/in/set-72157605483055146/ Oh, almost forgot, Good morning folks!!!!!

A thot for Hangout parties: Cee and I have gone to a few neo-Victorian dances lately, and one charming aspect of them is the custom of changing partners. In actual Victorian times, it was considered bad form for even married couples to dance the night away. In SL, having a dance and a brief IM is a great way for a newcomer to be introduced to a number of community members quickly. It's always totally excellent to go to a party and dance solo - indeed, many prefer that. But we can all stand some variety, and having a one-on-one during a couples dance is a nice way, I think, to draw someone who is shy about general chat into the occasion a little more. In Caledon, the way this is usually done is to do the initial invite via IM, and then if it is accepted do the invite in chat as well, which is a nice way of propagating a social atmosphere. Anyway, if you see Cee and I do this at parties, we're just being sociable, not shopping for an open relationship! .

Maybe we could make that the theme instead... call it "The Three-Song Dance" where people are encouraged to switch partners every three songs? Or maybe still red shades, but encourage it all the same... thoughts?

I'm having visions of grade-school skate parties. Everyone is mixing and having a great time...until.... "Heey...it's couple's dance time! Don't be shy..." Suddenly all the girls are on one wall and all the boys are on the other.

One thing to mention to the DJs -- slow dance type songs should maybe be put in after a batch of 3 regular songs and announced ahead of time. Many couples do not feel it is appropriate to slow dance with another person and so those couples would want to rejoin for slow dances.
