Thanks, looks like the perfect treatment. The kind of medicine that may not work, but after a few of those you don't mind being sick anymore. LOL

For no particular reason I will now note the song I'm currently listening to on my Ipod: "My Gay Shirt" by The Grammar Club.
"when I wear my gayest shirt, my gayest shirt, all the ladies want to flirt . . "
It amuses me.
Added: Was the talk about golden rules here or there or on the snow?
Well, one of the members of that group mentioned above has this golden rule: "The man with the gold rules"

From: Kaimi Kyomoon QFT. I love Dr. Who and I'd say he got it exactly right here. It seems to me that if there is a supreme being s/he doesn't even want us all to experience or explain our earthly lives in the same way. The best most of us can do is try to find a belief system that gets us through the day. In mine, once we've worked through all our karma and realized the true nature of God we don't need to be in human bodies on planet Earth any more.
I Like this! I'd never heard it before. I'm a Zen Buddhist and was always taught that the appropriate focus of our lives here on Earth is here and now. Even though, we aspire to release from the wheel of suffering and reincarnation, desire for enlightenment will never get us there. Indeed, it is letting go of desire, of striving, that leads to enlightenment. I was also taught to think of the suffering mentioned in Buddhist texts as discontent. In past times and in other countries, people do suffer. We, here in our privleged existence, find it difficult to relate to suffering as a concept, but when you think of discontent, many of the ideas in the Dharma become much more accessible. One of the concepts in Zen and other Mahayana schools of Buddhism that I've found most appealing is the idea of the Bodhisattva, one who vows to forego Nirvana (release from the wheel) and be a teacher until all sentient beings have attained enlightenment. The idea of making such a vow is at once appealing and terrifying. Prolly not for me in this incarnation. And speaking of reincarnation, I am not a believer in the sense of believing the "I" will be born again. I believe that my consciousness, whatever it is that makes "me" "me", only has this one life. The soul, as a vehicle for consciousness, does not exist. Some part of me will go on though, the life force that binds us all. And my actions (karma) will survive me, in all their imperfection. So I'm late to the discussion, I know. But here's my little $2L on religion, and the afterlife.

From: Brenda Connolly Thanks guys for sending your snow and ice our way. It's planning to get here around midnight. You are welcome. We are not completely done with it, though, which means that you will see more later. I expect another thanks then also. You can send it while I sit in my car for 5 hours because no one here knows how to drive. I'd say in adverse weather, but I will leave it as is.

From: Tex Nasworthy No ill feelings towards any Steeler fans. I grew up in Houston watching the Oilers. Way too many times when it looked like the Oilers might be going somewhere the Steelers put an end to that. Then to make matters worse if the weren't beating the Oilers they were beating the Cowboys. I can root for the Cards but I'm afraid the Steelers might wreck that too. I finished high school in Killeen, TX, which is why I hate Dallas - get contrary when everyone expects you to root for the 'home' team. Which is also why I don't care for the Redskins after living in the DC area for almost 30 years. I would try to hate the Ravens, but my son is a real fan, as is his SO. We're all rooting for the Steelers, figuring the Ravens look better if the Steelers run roughshod over the Cards. Now at home trying to deal with them about to extend the digital TV deadline. WBAL11 has been talking about it for months and now they are going to tack another 4 months on? How long can we hear about going digital before we can assume that everyone knows?

From: Ashe1 Writer Ashe Well, they used to sell this coke flavored syrup for general use nation wide, until some of the states (like my home state of Kansas) discovered it had a higher alcohol content than some liquors. Talking about a PO'd grandmother... If your kid has a cold, make sure you tuck them in tight.

Oh, well, us in the Baltimore area take relief in the fact that almost always, no matter how bad it gets around here, the New York Yankee and Boston Red Sox fans will have it worse. Leaves a small, warm spot in our hearts just thinking...

Ugh, I have so much to do tomorrow. This storm is really going to be a pain, especially if it is more on the ice side.
