Good morning, threadies!

This is one of those breakfasts that just does NOT do it for me. It's all over the place, no focus. Like the chef went haywire; wanted to use up every ingredient in his kitchen. Really weird. Why zucchini bread AND raspberry coffeecake? Why poached pears? One lonely tomato? What's the purpose? And then topping it with an orchid is gilding the lily. What a freaking mess.

/steps off her cooking soapbox.

Sorry, I'm just watching too much Top Chef these days :o

Maureen changes looks on the spot
Sometimes kitty, and sometimes she's not
But regardless of form
Fun and style is the norm
Now the heart of Jerboa she's caught.

Good morning all...I'm grumpy. 2.5 hours to drive to work today because of the freaking ice storm that came through yesterday, and my boss is freaking out because I'm going to be off work for 10 days after Christmas, so she's dumping on me like I'll never be back (hm, maybe she knows something I don't!).

Dear cold and miserable,

Rough days happen to everyone now and then. But if life hands you lemons, even frozen lemons, make a lemonade smoothie. If your boss is being unreasonable, try putting yourself in her shoes for a moment. Perhaps the new perspective will allow you to see the pressures she is under. Or....just tell her to get bent. That's what I'd do. But I write an advice column, not work in the real world.
