I went fishing once. Then I realized, "I can buy this stuff at the store." So I went shopping instead.

I used to like fishing. Till my Dad got all "into it".

I'd spend 30 minutes waiting, then the rest of the time exploring the shoreline & skipping stones.

Found some NEAT things- old medicine bottles, a pair of ceramic dice, a few arrowheads, musketballs... Yea that was fun. :)

I DID catch something once- A Mud Puppy. Ugly lil' critter!!! A.K.A. "Waterdog":

Tod I'm really sorry things aren't good with you and your Dad. I think about how much I adored mine, and still miss him so much . It makes me sad to hear stuff like that. It sounds like you care a lot and try. I guess in the end that's all you can do.

It sucked. Went last night. A bunch of photographer booths (duh, like we can't all take our own photos???), Szentasha Lingerie (duh, like we don't all as newbies get a free outfit when we come in???), prim jiggling boobs (who needs them), Play Sexy was there (again, been there done that, have their stuff so nothing new there), etc.

I mean really nothing was too new or exciting. The eat sushi off a slave girl was interesting, but in the end, who cares.

Even the people milling around were quite tame. And it was very small. I, for one, was bored. Or I'm totally jaded.

LOL! I don't know what I was expecting, but there wasn't much there. Lots of empty booths. It was, however, nice to see some familiar faces. :D

Ah, its no biggie. His father was the same way. No hobbies other than Work. They're both workaholics. Fortunately it skipped me! :)

I still count myself lucky to have 2 wonderful parents who are still around.

I liked your camel, Lexxi! So sorry you weren't feeling well last night. :( I hope you got a good night's sleep...

Thanks. Fell asleep shortly after I fled the wacky insanity going on. Hurt my head, it did. heh.

Sleep was good. Still tired though. :(

oh, and I went to that Erotica thing also. Disappointed. I see now, though, why no one responded when I talked about it in the in world group. I am, as normal, behind everyone else. That was a coupld of minutes ago, or an hour. Don't mean last night.

If you can view the pictures on the camera then definitely don't format anything. Another way you may be able to test: most Wally-worlds have a kiosk in the electronic section for printing pictures from digital media. Stick the card in and see if that can read it. You don't have to buy any prints just go far enough to see if it can pull up any of your pictures from the card. If so, the reader in your comp is likely dead. (broken pin or such). Buying a USB cable for the camera, or just another card reader (USB) would be options. If the connector on the camera is the really really tiny one, those cables can be oddly $$$. Or replacing the internal reader in your comp if you're up for it.

ETA: you said "card" and not "stick" so I'm assuming it's a Compact Flash? If so, a broken pin is still my best guess. But if it's one of the other kinds of camera memory sticks they don't use pins. They have surface contacts. In which case dust is the lead suspect. Give the reader a quick blow job. :D

me is wrong. no spot for usb cable. not meaning to sound stupid, but the spot i thot was for such a thing is actually for a tripod stand or something.

my camera is a panasonic dmc-fz18. the memory card is a panasonic rp-sdr01g. it takes great pics. now, if only i can retrieve them. yes, i will try cleaning the puter and the card surfaces. i can buy a new card for cheap. but, that doesn't help me get these pics off. thank you for so many ideas.

i LOVE fishing, especially creek fishing. the hike and not knowing what beauty lies around the next bend paired with sneaking up on fish in undisturbed pools is surreal and relaxing and takes you out of RL woes faster than anything i can imagine. plus, yum yum pan fried over an open fire made with local sticks is to die for! brown trout are my fave. they just taste magical when you've caught them yourself, and there's something satisying about eating fresh cheek meat. can't be explained.

glad you are feeling better Lexxi.

i had a crazy day yesterday, and events out of my control forced me to eat on the run... fast food. now, i don't normally eat fast food, in fact i rarely eat out. so, i drove thru taco bell and ate a burrito supreme in about 3 bites then ran into my 4 hour seminar just before they locked the doors. i was lucky to get in, as it was required for my job... but, i was now locked in.

well.... tick tock tick tock fast forward 20 minutes.

taco bell hurt me. major issues. LET ME OUT! 4 times i had to leave the class. it was awful!

rough nite for ol' 3Ring. for those of you who dislike me, there's your sweet revenge (again). LOL

I do not eat at taco bell unless I'm eating it at home, or close to home.

But then, food rarely agrees with me. If it had been me rushing to a seminar, I'd have grabbed the small jr. hamburger from McDonalds, and only it, and nibbled it very slowly. And then fall into a realm of hope.

heh. I am actually still somewhat under the weather. The above is both to much information, and something I hate talking about. I hate talking about that type of thing. I shall now flee . . .

/me flees with you. i hope you feel better. tummy troubles are the debil. i also rarely eat out for same reasons as you.... however, TB has never hurt me before.. but then, i haven't eaten out in a place like that in a looooooooong time. anyway....

moving on. :o

3Ring...I checked the specs for your camera, and it should have a USB port...

http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/shop/Cameras-Camcorders/Digital-Cameras/Lumix-Digital-Cameras/model.DMC-FZ18K.S_11002_7000000000000005702#tabsection

Interface DC Input, A/V Output (NTSC/PAL), USB
Standard Accessories Battery Charger, Battery Pack, Lens Cap, Lens Hood & Adaptor, AC, AV & USB Cables, Strap, Shoulder Strap, Hood (S+L), CD-ROM

Manual: http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/DMCFZ18.pdf

Page 111...shows the USB port on the lefthand side (as you hold the camera as if you were taking a pic)

EDIT: oh good, just saw that Vamp solved your problem - yay! But still....check your camera for that USB port. :)

...panasonic dmc-fz18...

from a product website:
From: someone
8.1 megapixel
18x optical zoom
(very nice camera!)
...
Connectivity: DC-In, AV-Out, USB
Storage: SD/SDHC/MMC card; Internal memory (27 MB)
Accessories: Battery Charger, Battery Pack, Lens Cap, Lens Hood & Adaptor, AC, AV & USB Cables, Strap, Shoulder Strap, Hood (S+L), CD-ROM

at 8mp the cam would in theory hold 3 pics internally, so I suspect they *are* on the card. If you want to try a new reader you need one that lists sd,sdhc and mmc. Most support a gazillion types of cards, those 3 are the only ones you care about. It claims to have come with a USB cable. If you need a new cable it is most likely one of the mini ones on the camera:
<--this pic is LARGER than real life.

(nevermind, just saw the update :o)

there IS a usb plug area. and a spot for a wall plug in. YAY! too bad those cords didn't come with the camera. anyway, thanks for pointing out the obvious. i guess i hurry too much. wouldn't hurt to read the owner's manual, eh? LOL

got the pics off. YAY ...then forced my very uncooperative new kitten to hold still for 2 seconds and i got only one decent pic (the rest are totally blurry). i'll take better ones when he's less feisty...

here is my very frail kitten. he is still sickly... sneezing and coughing and has the runs again... and his belly is fattening but the rest of him is SO thin and boney. never had an umplump kitten before. it could be the breed. not sure. active and happy tho, so i guess he feels ok. his eyes go cross eyed all the time too, which is wierd.

* Do not use any other USB connection cables except the supplied one.
for future reference, they made some screwy all-in-one connector for USB and AV on the same connector. silly. So a card reader is prolly your only option. *NEVER* store pictures on the internal memory, there may be no way of getting to those if you don't still have their special cable.

(cute pic)
the cross-eyed thing is pretty common in strays in my experience. Especially if the mother was malnourished, too young, or otherwise unhealthy. How2 fatten up a kitteh: Low-sodium chicken noodle. Give him the chicken (you get to eat noodle soup :)) ***Avoid dairy.*** As much as he may seem to want milk or cheese it goes right right thru em most of the time.
