From: HoneyBear Lilliehook Morning all! Hope everyone had a great weekend....I did! Lexxi, I'm going to have to get you to show me how to operate my car...it just sits there...lol /me wanders off to get coffee Turn off all ao and/or stands/dance animations, etc. I take it you pulled the car out of inventory and dropped it on the ground? (the inventory picture that looks like a pile of boxes). "Take" the top part - just grab it anywhere above the wheel section. You should now have just wheels on the ground now, a "stripped" car. Sit in the car - you should have a pie menu come up with one of the options being drive (I normally go for one of the wheels so I know I'm getting the driver seat instead of the passenger seat, though I am not sure that matters). Now open your inventory (or look in it again if it is still open. Go to the folder the car was pulled from. There should be another box in there now - the top of the car you picked up. Wear the box. You should now be sitting in the car with the attachment lined up with the wheels. You are now ready to drive. The arrow keys work to drive the car. The up arrow moves forward, back arrow moves back, etc. There is a way to change speeds but it is different with different car creators, so I would need to play with it again to find the gear shift again. Yesterday/last night I just drove in the "default" gear.

G'mornin, thread! Kay, so I know Maureen is prob’ly waitin’ t’read this. I had assumed this would be a kinda quiet weekend, but that turned out to be sorta wrong. On Saturday, I made it to “The Show Must Go On,” directed by Osprey Therian. It’s a vaudeville/pantomime show that she puts together every so often. Super great fun, an very sily. I especially like the cellophane dancers and the driving in SL skit. A lot of it is a bit more “adult” than I should prob’ly be at, but I tink I can safely assume that Cooking With Margo would be lost on a six-year-old anyway! Went fishing for a bit after that, where we had prob’ly the biggest fishing crowd ever on Livingtree. The new fishing contests we’ve been doin’ seem to be popular. I finished up the night doin’ some decorating at my store, as well as puttin a few folks together for a piccie to help promote the upcomin’ Bay City Hallowe’en & Day of the Dead parade. Was fun posin this, an did’t take nearly as long as I s’pect it might. So then Sunday. Again, I figgured “oh, this’ll be a quiet day.” Cept I had an offline tellin’ me about a new Magellan site. I hadda go s’plore! Turns out it wasn’t jes a new site, but a whole new land mass to eyeball! That was fun! I went around for a while on foot, exploring Magellan’s Borer and some of the other places nearby, and even traveled to the Citadel in the middle of the continent. I found a really neat temple with snake goddesses an a big huuuuge crystal in the middle. Even found a secret trap door in there. An found a cool ship yard an stuff. I really especially like all the underwater parts! I took a lot of piccies, including a coupel I put on the Magellan thread. Well, I found out my piccies were bein’ watched, an while blimpin’ around in Nautilis, Michael Linden hunted me down. As luck would have it, he made it to my blimp jes when I had an expired handoff an got dumped off – but I was able to relog. He force TPed me to the blimp, an he, Brann Georgia, an I had a nice little flight. After this, I rushed off to a Bay City Alliance meeting, to work on promotin’ the area an stuff. This is where th’ parade came in an stuff. It wasn’t too long after this, though, that a limo showed up to take me to filming. I’m gonna be in the next DIVAs episode! Look f’r me tricker treatin’ in it. In fact, here’s a “backstage” shot. I also hadda pose with the other Magicians for a screen shot for an upcomin’ SL book, but that was later an th’ forums only lets me post so many piccies. Oh, an did I mention the cool kites? Marion Questi an Martini Discovolante made some super nice ones, an my brother found ‘em, so now we all gots cool kites! An that’s it!

Your picture came out good

From: Maureen Boccaccio Kaimi, I love this picture...so peaceful, innocent. It brings back wonderful memories. When I was very young, my dad built a bookcase unit for the bedroom I shared with my sister, and he included a window seat. It was marvelous...books read; dreams made, games played. The remarkable thing was, he'd never built anything like it before. Oh, he'd made bookcases and shelving from scratch prior to this project, but he'd never done anything so detailed..and he used no books or designs, other than the one he had in his head. We moved from that house when I was 12. I looked forward to the move because I would be getting my own room, but boy...I knew I would miss that window seat. Thanks for letting me think about that this morning! *smiles*

One of the plans I have for this house is putting a bay window with a window seat in the living room so I can sit at it on snowy days and drink spiked coffee and listen to Miles Davis, or maybe Ravel and watch the snow fall. That is a wonderful picture, Kai. I love real wood furniture, Mo. All my bookcases and some other pieces are from a shop nearby that I finish myself. I love the smell of a carpenter's shop. If Ty Pennington is in it, even better.

It is hard to map out an exploring guide to SL when the continents have different names on maps I can find over the Internet. This is annoying. I've seen Corsica used as the name of the North most land, and as the name for the Southern land of the west. Nautilus being in-between the two land masses, or, on one map, the middle and the southern continent.
The Western continents have various names. One map as them as Heterocera, Sansara, and Korea.
Frustrating.
Well . . my "Continents of SL" collection of pictures has just one continent, and one set in the sub collection for that one continent. I was going to put Bay City in whichever one that falls on, and Forum Cartel in whichever one that falls on, since I have those two huge sets, and I know both are on the mainland.

I saw and talked with two Lindens while exploring the new continent. Both were nice. The one I meet while inside the Atomic Boring Machine was a brief talk. I was too nervous to ask for a bear at the time. I finally was able to get myself to ask about bears of the second Linden I meet, but he hasn't made a bear yet. So my Linden bear total stands at zero. Of course the second one noticed that I was a pet of another. heh *blushes* Oh, and he also found me driving around underwater in my brand new Primouth car.

From: Marianne McCann Bay City is part of Sansara Found that on the wiki. Of course the wiki itself is confused as to the continent names. At the moment I have Heterocera Atoll (Great Wall), Nautilus (new continent), and Sansara (Bay City, Chalet Linden), with the names in () bein sets. I do not have anything, yet, for Jeogeot or Corsica. And nothing for Mãebaleia, apparently the name on the wiki for the "unnamed continent."
