Kaimi, I think that stuff is only sold in the US, we get stuck using frontline, which the cat hates so much she froths at the mouth before we even bring it near her lol. I don't even know where she picked them up from...she's a house cat! Never been outside...ever. Anyway, we'll sort it out soon. Oh, and Elora, I think I like Brenda's solution to the work problem LOL. Brenda rocks (remind me not to make her mad) Kudos to Brenda for major yuck factor, btw- And as for the fleas- they hitch hike on our shoes all the time- Florida is home to such delightful critters as skeeters, palmetto bugs (really huge roaches) fleas, ticks... silverfish, icky moths (zoological nomenclature , I am sure) _____________________

Hey!! Washington native, me bucko...*shakes fist* (but I know what you mean ![]() I'm actually down there fairly often . I have family in Annapolis and Bowie, and some friends in Bel Air, Silver Spring and Laurel. Tod...all I can say is YIKES. ![]() Well, that's not true. I have a spider story, too. A while ago, when I was staying in Heidelberg, I came back to my house after being away for the weekend. I dragged my suitcase into my bedroom, turned on the light, and I did scream like a little girl. Well, more like a grown woman. There was a HUGE, and I emphasize the word HUGE, daddy long legs - looking spider on the wall. I kid you not, its diameter (leg to leg) was about 18 inches. I almost fainted from the shock, lol. FORTUNATELY, one of my house guests was quite comfortable around spiders, and she somehow managed to scoop up the beastie and take it outside. To this day, I have NO idea how that sucker got in the house. ewwww. Still raises the hair on the back of my neck!!!! i once took out this old robe i used to wear, because my current one (at the time) was in the laundry. if i remember correctly, it was stored in a bag with some other stuffs i didn't want anymore, and stuffed over near the camping items.... in the spare bedroom closet. i'm sure it had been there for at least 6 months. well, i put it on and was walking around, and a little later something dark caught my lower periphreal vision down at my chest... i looked down and staring up at me was a wolf spider. the screaming was not high pitched, but something that came from deep within (sort of like that fellow on Home Alone) and i can't remember anything after that... apparantly i began running chaotically and randomly hit my head on the upper kitchen cabinets and knocked myself out. I'm usually fine with spiders but 18" and hidden in the toilet are a bit extreme! My creepiest bug story happened last year when my son and I were driving back from Mammoth overnight. My grandson was asleep in his car seat in the back, and my son was driving a rental car. When it got light I glanced down and saw a big cockroach on his thigh. It must have been in the car with us for hours - maybe since he rented the car 4 days earlier. *shudder* I had to grab it with a tissue and throw it out the window on the freeway. And avoid having it just blow back in. oh ha! car stories! so? was there screaming involved? i almost drove off the road once (quite a few years ago now) when a little teeny spider came down out of the visor and onto the sterring wheel. i don't think i screamed very much, i can't remember now, but i certainly tried to get away from it.... which is bad since i was the one operating the car. ![]() I don't have problems with spiders, normally. But roaches, that's a different story. Serious heebie-jeebies! I would have FREAKED. better stay out of Las Vegas then. that place is not safe from them, ANYWHERE. i promise you, even though you can't see them, they are in every hotel and restaurant - bathroom, bar - house, car, yard and casino.... eew. they are nasty! _____________________

sorry 3Ring, i know I shouldn't laugh but..
![]() LMAO!! Thats something I'm glad about here...we don't really have many really sceery critters. sure, they creep me out a bit, but they're not really dangerous. Very few poisonous biting thingies here. Not sure I could cope with having to check my shoes everytime I put them on etc, cause knowing my luck, I would forget just once and that'd be the time something gets me lol. _____________________

Yeah, most spiders do not really bother me - I played with daddy long legs as a kid at the lake -- but I absolutely cannot stand cockroaches. June bugs also really freak me out - they sound so gross when they fly into things and they crunch horribly when you step on them. Yuck. My spider story - on a trip to Costa Rica, while at a campsite, all of a sudden one of the girls screamed like she was dying. We all ran to her tent and there is her suitcase open and a tarantula about the size of my hand sitting on her clothing in the suitcase. Something that big might have made me scream too. My husband got a really good close up picture of it that is just fabulous. eew! i would have died. literally. oh man, please don't post the pic. _____________________
