Well, after a week of Guitar Hero, I kinda realize why I never took up the guitar!

Years of computer use pretty much makes my wrists & fingers hurt like hell.

Heh! And I thought Dance Dance Revolution was tough!! :)

Oh well, I shall console myself & my sore wrists & fingers with knowing that a new season of Desperate Housewives is on tonight!

YAY!!!!!!! :D

Can't say I was ever a sports fan. Of anything.

The closest I come is Sumo Wrestling. I have weird facination with that.

I remember when I was 10, my parents bought me a football & a helmet, trying to get me away from "stupid stuff", which meant computers, video games, horror movies, etc.

The football became a dinosaur egg, and the helmet came in handy when friends & I decided to play "stuntmen". :D

Now I get to show them the toys I used to want, that they wouldnt get me for Christmas "because its dumb" and show them the prices the market now asks for those same toys.

Then again, we're talking the same two people who told me computers were stupid & the world would never need them. Go to school to be a machinist instead!!!

I SO wish I had all that on videotape!!!!:)
Life can be ironic. My dad, who actually invented a kind of computer for the navy back in the '70s, was pretty frustrated that I wasn't more into math and science. And sadly he was gone before I learned how to do anything with computers and before any of his grandchildren were complete computer whizzes.

Keeping withe or poetry theme, I will post this , a framed copy hangs on my wall.

Baseball (as explained to a foreigner)

You have two sides... one out in the field and one in.
Each man that is in goes out and when he is out he comes in and the next man goes out.
When three men are out, the side that is out comes in and the side that is in goes out and tries to get those coming in out.
Sometimes you get men in and still not out.
When both sides have been in and out 9 times including the not-outs...

...THAT'S THE END OF THE GAME!

LOL Brenda. Thanks.

I hoping I can find enough "friends" in Sl who want to put together unique halloween build
this up coming week.
I am thinking about unique customs that I can sell for 1L and something else.
Then have build up for about month.

I am no good at building, but I am happy to look at whatever anyone does come up with for Halloween. :)

Your dad sounds cool.

It's a pity that parents arent around long enough to see their kids achieve these things.

My only goal is to live long enough to see changes in Computers. Even my 4 yr old Niece knows what they do. And I can't wait till the day her & her brother show me up & make ME look stupid.

I always said thats why I keep on living... I wanna see what happens next.

We're giving up for Halloween this year.

No candy. No nothing.

In the 10 years that our town has reinstated trick or treat, each year we've had less & less kids.

Last year we had a total of SIX.

Damn kids are too lazy to walk up a big hill

And yea, I was one of those houses that went ALL OUT. Not just the crap store stuff, but custom made. I used to spend $500-1000 setting up.

Great pic of the Rat Pack up there, and /me agrees that Dean Martin was “smooth”
Then it got me thinking of all the pop stars of the 70s too
None better then Tom Jones….
Found this jewel…

Morning all!Happy Monday.:)

I haven't gotten any trick-or-treaters in years, and I live on the first floor. I don't even take my own kids out though. We usually go to a certain friend's house who has a party every year for the kids. I still buy candy to pass out though, but eat it all myself.:o

Good morning everyone!

Hope the weekend went well for everyone. I stood on my porch, and thumbed my nose at hurricane Kyle as it went past. :)

Good morning, threadies, and Happy Monday (well...)!

@Tod: Wow, *I* woulda come to see your house!! :D(/me goes a bit nuts with the decorating, too.)

On the other hand, saving the moolah is a good thing sometimes...

@Rio: I know in my mom & dad's apt building, if you want kids to trick or treat at your door, you hang a pic of a jack o lantern on the door. That way kids and their parents know which doorbells to ring. And then the apartment building residents have a Halloween party, geared mainly toward the children.

@ DaQbet: Tom Jones!! Thanks for that youtube offering. Tom had (has? haven't heard him recently) some pipes on him. And he could shake his booty, lol.

@ Jerboa: glad you weathered the storm. :) It's still a bit wet here, but the sun is shining and everything looks and smells so fresh.
