From: Yosef Okelly email. But since it is all internal, the email communication is very fast. [edit to add] As far as I know, email is the only way for prims in different regions to communicate. Neat! Thanks. What I would have done is have the HUD sync with the object (that is, update the UUID) whenever it enters the sim. That way no third party web site would be necessary.

Hangout HUD & Zonkster Site - Status Slack gave me an update - his server hard drive crashed - the provider is working on it - hopefully back up within another few days.
ETA - I guess I should have caught up on reading first and then I would have known that Mo had already posted that info
Also - I did just send a Group Notice out.

From: Tod69 Talamasca Your dad sounds cool.
It's a pity that parents arent around long enough to see their kids achieve these things.
My only goal is to live long enough to see changes in Computers. Even my 4 yr old Niece knows what they do. And I can't wait till the day her & her brother show me up & make ME look stupid.
I always said thats why I keep on living... I wanna see what happens next. I hear you. I had my first computer experience in the 50's at an open house at my dad's work. It was a Navy research place and I think the computer was housed in three floors of the building. It was set up to play tic tac toe with the visitors. The first modern calculator I ever saw was one my dad brought home from work. I remember him telling me it cos $800. Maybe a year later I bought one with all the functions for $30.00. My son has been programing computers since he and they were quite young and he regrets that he never got a chance to talk to his granddad about it. His son is almost 5 and already comfortable with computers. My mom started out as an industrial peasant in England. She saw her first automobile when she was 10. A lot had changed by the time she died 4 years ago.

From: Jerboa Haystack Good morning everyone! Hope the weekend went well for everyone. I stood on my porch, and thumbed my nose at hurricane Kyle as it went past. Hey Jerboa, glad the Hurricane missed you, but be careful. Hurricanes have poor tempers, you don't want to make one mad.

From: LittleMe Jewell It is amazing how so many of us have come to rely on this tool. so does this mean that at any given moment there's 20 bored people sitting elsewhere sighing that it says "no one is around"? maybe the HUD is a bad thing???

From: Vampaerus Wysznik so does this mean that at any given moment there's 20 bored people sitting elsewhere sighing that it says "no one is around"? maybe the HUD is a bad thing??? Mine just says 'click on the home icon to TP to the hangout'. Oddly, it feels weirder to have it sitting there and saying that, than it does to just take the HUD off altogether. After five minutes of it not being there, I forget it's gone.

I put on today's outfit last night and then popped into Zaara's to see if the lucky chair had managed to find an 'A' yet - it hadn't - before I logged off. Because I'm a tiny bit peculiar, the fact that I matched the outer room decor meant I had to stop and take this pic before I left.

At work we were just discussing the proper way to respond to a confusing work related e-mail. Eventually we decided that the best approach would be to send an e-mail reply that stated:
LOL wtf?

From an email I just got...
09-29-2008 12:51
This is so priceless, and so, so easy to see happening, customer service being what it is today.
A lady died this past January, and Citibank billed her for February and March for their annual service charges on her credit card, and added late fees and interest on the monthly charge. The balance had been $0.00 w hen she died, but was now somewhere around $60.00. A family member placed a call to Citibank.
Here is the exchange:
Family Member: 'I am calling to tell you she died back in January.'
Citibank: 'The account was never closed and the late fees and charges still apply.'
Family Member: 'Maybe you should turn it over to collections.'
Citibank: 'Since it is two months past due, it already has been.'
Family Member: So, what will they do when they find out she is dead?'
Citibank: 'Either report her account to frauds division or report her to the credit bureau, maybe both!'
Family Member: 'Do you think God will be mad at her?'
Citibank: 'Excuse me?'
Family Member: 'Did you just get what I was telling you - the part about her being dead?'
Citibank: 'Sir, you'll have to speak to my supervisor.'
Supervisor gets on the phone:
Family Member: 'I'm calling to tell you, she died back in January with a $0 balance.'
Citibank: 'The account was never closed and late fees and charges still apply.'
Family Member: 'You mean you want to collect from her estate?'
Citibank: (Stammer) 'Are you her lawyer?'
Family Member: 'No, I'm her great nephew.' (Lawyer info was given)
Citibank: 'Could you fax us a certificate of death?'
Family Member: 'Sure.' (Fax number was given)
After they get the fax:
Citibank: 'Our system just isn't set up for de ath. I don't know what more I can do to help.'
Family Member: 'Well, if you figure it out, great! If not, you could just keep billing her. She won't care.'
Citibank: 'Well, the late fees and charges do still apply.' (What is wrong with these people?!?)
Family Member: 'Would you like her new billing address?'
Citibank: 'That might help...'
Family Member: ' Odessa Memorial Cemetery , Highway 129, Plot Number 69.'
Citibank: 'Sir, that's a cemetery!'
Family Member: 'And what do you do with dead people on your planet???

From: Amaranthim Talon I'll sneak in-world and slam the cell door on her! muahahahahah... Oh, Damien, since I was here, I let in the interior designers and painters. They're starting in the living room. I was thinking a sort of avocado and harvest yellow theme. You know, for the season. And some flocked wallpaper. Or maybe some black lighting. oooh....look! They have an Elvis pic with them.
