Everyone has seen this, right?

http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/08/11/liveplace-to-launch-photo-realistic-virtual-world-rendered-in-the-cloud/

No, I know it doesn't look real. So check out the screenshots here:

http://www.otoy.com/site/start.htm

That's got to be some breakthrough in image-rendering. How FAST did that load for you, even with SL and God knows what else running?

This is going to be accessible via mobile phone, and from a *browser*.

O.o

I know, I know. It's too good to be true. But damn, if it *is* true I'll be breaking down the door to have a look!

The town I live in is less than exciting, but we have stuff like this just a few miles away.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

So-

Who knows the Gimp? I need to replace green back ground with transparent- how can I do that - please- I should ask over in texture but chances are Gary Glimmer has the answer and I just carved him a new one :D

I would use Color to Alpha in the Colors menu and select the color you want to be alpha.

If that color is used in more than the background then you can do two things...

1) Fill the background areas with a color you know is not used and then do Color to Alpha on the more unique color.

2) Choose Layer->Transparency->Add Alpha Channel. Then choose Select->Select by Color and click on the each area with the color that you want to make transparent and then finally select Edit->Clear to make it go transparent. Repeat this until all background areas are done.

Hope this helps :)

2nd - Brad Greenspan is HOT! damm. yummy!

3rd - if i can run that on my old puter as fast as this one, that is just another reason to make a switch to such an incredible online game.

4th - i wish they had spent more time showing us the avatars. it's like they didn't want us to see them. everything looked so real!

thanks Skell.

Hi Mo *waves* am good except for the spat in another thread lol. Its a gorgeous sunny day here in my part of the world and spring seems very close :)

Oh also the new land I bought was from one of the more ethical land dealers (just by chance really) and he very nicely swapped my two plots in the other sim, the ones that I wanted to sell, for some extra land in the sim I just bought in :) This caused almost giddy amounts of happiness when I realised how many prims I now have to play with :) a very nice man he was :)

How are you?

The outside world can be a crazy place, missy. But it's important to relieve stress! :p

Oh, I am so happy about your land swap - ain't it great when things work out like that? :)

Earlier this evening, I had one of those nutty SL asset server glitches happen. I bought an outfit at Insolence, brought it home, tried it on...with the exception of the prim skirt attachment, which would not attach. Tried and tried; took everything off, started again..nothing. Got dressed again, logged out , came back in and...the entire outfit was gone. *poof* Cleared caches, logged out, logged back in..nothing.

BUT! The store owner, camilla Yosuke, kindly sent me a new copy, so yay! I am happily trying it on right now. :)

OMW that is truly terrifying. I am glad you got it sorted though. It could have been much worse too.

I have met people who lost whole 20K+ inventories without ever getting them back and they had to start again. That would be hell.

Ha, no, rodents in oranges just struck me as funny. They'll probably be around all week.

(The auditors, not the rodents.)

Do you want me to come and set them on fire or something?

Good Night Threadites!

Upon my pillow, breeding many woes,
Save me from curious Conscience, that still lords
Its strength for darkness, burrowing like a mole
