How about sticking them in one of those trailers?

I'm not so sure about that. I would hate to see the property values drop that much because of them.

Morning everyone!

Hi! :)

From: Tod69 Talamasca
I'd post a pic of my town but, well, 1 stoplight towns aren't that exciting.
They are often very pleasant and relaxing though.

Hi threadies.

Morning Damien :) Lovely clivia.

... but looks damn near the same. Dirt poor. We moved into a newer trailer with our own land outside of town when I was about 10 or 12 or so. We had trees and everything there. Moving up with the rich folk.

It's funny the way you see things as a kid.
Living outside of town on your own land sounds very nice. Do you ever watch "My Name is Earl'?

the day after the Mets last game this year, hopefully well into October, my beloved Shea will meet the wrecking ball. :(

Did anyone watch the China/USA gymnist routines last night? It broke my heart when that girl fell on the beam and then again on floor excersise.
Going to watch the recording a little later. Thanks for warning me about the fall I'm always kind of heart in mouth that that will happen. I hope she wasn't hurt...

My favourite events, too :(

Okay, I'm giving up on the Canadians and am going to start rooting for the Americans now. Neighbourly of me, I know.

I'd cheer for the Swedens/Britishers but, hey, Max is out of town and, frankly, neither of those teams excels at gymnastics.

:D

This was pretty much my backyard growing up, Flushing Meadow. our house was towards the right of the picture.

Now take a look at that same place during the SL 5th birth... I mean the 1964 NY World's Fair...

I borrow from the 64 NYWF a lot with inworld builds. the tower on the top of my SL5B build was taken from the Tower of the Four Winds.

That's great Mari. :) I really wish I could have seen it for real. My oldest brother was born in 1960, and since we lived so close, my parents took him there almost every weekend.

Who has time for TV? :) I have seen bits and pieces tho.

BTW, I come from a small town. 7,000 people more or less.

Physically, she was not hurt at all. Emotionally she was distroyed. It may be chovanistic of me but I can't stand to see a yong girl hurt that bad. World class athelete, the best there is. And then bobble a routine she has done flawlessly thousands of times before -- only this one performabce counts tho.

Otherwise, all the chinese and american girls were beautiful to watch. Truly amazing.

And there are probably already enough people cheering for the Chinese teams.

I lived for a year in a small village in the north of England. I really like that kind of atmosphere where everyone knows everyone, there's less traffic and the open country is all around.

I thought redundancy was good in Tech Stuff? Like Engineers, who wear belts AND suspenders.

They just do that to look nerdy.

Flushing Meadows is where the Black Stallion (or rather, Alec Ramsay,) lived.

*yawn* Good morning, Threadies. To carrry on the picture tradition this morning:

A typical monsoon storm over Tucson.

Is that in San Francisco's infamous gorgeous park?

Edit: I'll be mortified if it was Central Park :o

Nice pic Oryx. Haven't seen much in the way of light shows this year. :(

Bummer. My friend has a house up near Skyline and Campbell, and we used to sit out on his back porch, which overlooked the valley, during summer evenings. You know that time, when the winds start whipping across the desert, finally cooling things off, bringing little scatterings of rain before the big storm? We'd go out then, and then when the rain finally came down in buckets, we'd light cigars and drink scotch and watch the storm with all the houselights out. Wonderful.

Just because we havn't had one of these in a while ...

Which Fantasy/SciFi Character Are You?
http://www.tk421.net/character

Susan Ivanova

Fiercely dedicated to bringing an end to corruption and exploitation, you are a strong-willed and courageous force of light.

Ivanova is always right. I will listen to Ivanova. I will not ignore Ivanova's recommendations. Ivanova is God.

Funny ... I don't feel like a woman.

Well not surprised to see I came up as a guy. At least he's blonde and cute, but I have no idea who he is. Does describe me tho.

Samwise Gamgee

A brave and loyal associate full of optimism, you remain true to your friends and their efforts, to whatever end.

But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer.

Hmmmm, I have no idea, although I'm pretty sure it's not Golden Gate Park.

Morning everyone. Just sipping my coffee, thinking about maybe doing some work. :o

SL has ruined me for RL, heehee.

Ok, then I'm going with Central Park now, because it looks like an Olmsted landscaping job to me.

Or, mmm, maybe Prospect Park in Brooklyn :)

Ok, so I'm a guy from Babylon 5. Who knew?

John Sheridan

An experienced survivor who has maneuvered around many obstacles, you are looked up to by those who rely on your good judgment.

In the last few years, we've stumbled. We stumbled at the death of the president, the war, and on and on. When you stumble a lot you tend to look at your feet. Now we have to make people lift their eyes back to the horizon and see the line of ancestors behind us saying, "Make my life have meaning," and to our inheritors before us saying, "create the world we will live in."

John is a character in the Babylon 5 universe.

That's OK, Yosef; apparently, I am a guy:

ARAGORN
Putting your appointed path ahead of any inner conflicts, you make your own rules for the benefit of all.

If my life or death I can protect you, I will.

Aragorn is a character in the Middle-Earth universe. There is a description of him at TheOneRing.net.

Who, by the way, rocked. Although I was taken with Legolas, too. And Haldir. Well, pretty much all the pretty boys of LOTR. :D

@Elora: Samwise Gamgee is also a character from Lord of the Rings. The actor is Sean Astin.

Luke Skywalker

Boldly striving to overcome the darkness both in this world and within yourself, you are righteously devoted to forging your own destiny.

It's your choice, but I warn you not to underestimate my powers.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

I got...

Possessing a rare combination of wisdom and humility, while serenely dominating your environment you selflessly use your powers to care for others.

Even the smallest person can change the course of the future.
