Most neko threads that I have seen include at least one person being against Neko (I mean more than just Ricardo), and sometimes the threads devolve into "yelling." Though sometimes the "yelling" is an internal Neko fight over "true neko" and "cats are solitary individual creatures."

No, not exactly the same postings occur, but similar ones do occur in the Neko threads.

Gorean roleplay in my opinion is no more or less valid than any other roleplay. The problems come as usual with the asshats who do take it to extremes and are insensitive to the feelings on those who do not want to play. Good roleplayers in any roleplay environment are a joy to be around and interract with, asshats are not. Sadly the state of SL Gor is tending to be populated majorly by the latter.

The so called RL Goreans often are nothing more than people wanting to seem self important in the SL Gor environments. I often wonder how many people are really living the Gorean lifestyle out there (as closely as is possible, after all there are no youth preserving serums or Gorean cities in RL). I suspect no where near as many claim to be in SL Gor.

There are two different types of Gor roleplay and much cross over between the two types as they are often mixed freely by individuals in the Gor sims. The first is where Gor is treated as a roleplay game by people who just want to immerse for a while and still have other non-Gorean aspects to their SL. The other kind is what is often called lifestylers who choose to dedicate their entire SL to being Gorean. It is still roleplay in the sense that BDSM is roleplay but it is not a game to those involved - it is a way of living their SL.

To the OP, what type are you after? Game or Lifestyle? If the former, well it is getting increasingly difficult to find drama free reasonably gentle Gorean roleplaying areas without the asshats (i.e. gentle Gor = Disney-Gor - remember John Norman's world is actually extremely harsh and brutal) and I cannot make a good recommendation I would be happy with. If the latter then Iaomai is a good place to find peace and tranquility which seems remarkably free of asshats still.

Oh, they don't have to be naked, just to get the highest rating, naked is good. Along with some kind of back story. I was naked in mine, the avatar picture next to my name here, but Trout gave me only a 0.5 rating.

And yes, I do take every opportunity to note that Trout gave me a 0.5 rating. Trout is mean. He gave Bradley (I think it is Bradley), something like a 9.something, and me a 0.5. I may be short, fat, and hairy, but I still have feelings
