Hi, I'm looking for a low-key easy-going Gorean community. Can anybody make a recommendation?

I apologize in advance for what this thread might turn into (yes, I've read past threads).

Thx,
Severian

You should go ask on SL Universe...there's been lots of Gorean merriment. :D

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

I would highly recommend Iaomai. You can tp into their landing zone (a ship) and there are generally people in that area that will offer a tour for you. Very accepting of people as "people" first and not as hard-core as some of the Gorean sims.

I find "Low-Key" and "Gorean" to be at cross purposes.

What is low-key about pleasure slaves wearing collars, thin bits of silk and nothing more -- salviating at the thought a "Real Gorean Man" will glance their way?

Course he might mean "Low-drama"

I suppose it might be possible to find those.

Maybe it referring to the key that the Gorean songs are sung in. If I remember correctly most sound best in the keys of E flat and F.

Singing in Gorean is a pain I bet

It probably involves 5 paragraphs of /emoting followed by one short verse 7 words long.

I would also recommend Iaomai.. its a teaching House and fairly laid back. Also, Herlit would be a good place to try.

Well, low-drama is what I guess I meant. The rest of it sounds OK to me. Although I don't believe the salivating bit. ;)

Norman is/was a bit of a tool. Which is why I am looking for "low key".

LOL

Your attitude is shared by a lot of people, many who are "Goreans",

Which is surprizing to me, why bother being Goreans if they don't want to follow their own books.

I guess the online "World of Gor" has become bigger than the author, the book series and the (sometimes criminal and often loony) "Real Life Goreans".

Sung in the key of F (which is the grade this song got in music school) to the tune of the Spongebob Squarepants theme song.

Oooooohhhhh Who lives in a pirate ship way out at sea?
Thogral Gorman!
Who has lots of slaves and a tiny peepee?
Thogral Gorman!
If swords and silk undies are something you seek
Thogral Gorman
Then tp on over and take a quick peek!
Thogral Gorman
We'll have lots of fun learning to submit.
Thogral Gorman
He's seems like an ass, but he's really the...

bomb. (hah - see what I did there?)

Thogral Gorman, Thogral Gorman, Thogral Gorman

THOGRAL!!!

Haha. I raised an understated, yet amused eyebrow. It's as good as "ROTFLMAO" (ugh) for a Brit.

Would it also include the little whistle at the end? And the children shouting?

If it did, it at least deserves a C ;)

I would say that for me that is exactly right. What's wrong with variety? Let the "canonical" Goreans do their thing, and let the the rest do theirs.

Trout, you have a gift. I hope you are putting it to good use!

Of course it includes those things! Hey! A "C"! My GPA is coming up. If they let me off academic probation, I can start drinking again.

Severian: Most people wouldn't call it a "gift" per se, but I appreciate the charity. Unfortunately, whatever it is, I'm completely wasting it.
