He's over at Second Citizen.

I was over there a bit, but with the dust up that happened over kid avvies on SCII, I'm not sure I should post over yonder.

I can't believe the garbage that gets posted about kid avatars at Second Life Answers.. grrr...

What is a Gateway exactly? Are they individually owned welcome areas? Are there any rules governing the running of them?

Hey, that's the same forum software that the Atmosphir game beta has.

The Atmosphir company referred to their own forum as "makeshift".

It's nicer to use than the blogorum is.

It's the mosty popular forum software on the web - cos it's free. It's very good though.

I recall one thread in particular. It was a big of a mess, dominated by he-who-shall-not-be-named. Ugly stuff.

Well the thought that there is a Community Gateway out there that does not allow child avatars makes my blood boil.

There is? :( I mentor at one and I can not see LL giving their blessing to any CG that had a rule like that.

Well I don't know for sure yet. I know someone on Second Life Answers claimed they worked in one where that is the rule. I am researching when I get home and in world.

Yes, that was VERY ugly. The aftermath of it was pretty difficult, too.

I know I keep saying where I'll go when this is over, every time saying something different, but right now I think I'll be at the Forum Cartel forum and SC.

SL's forum, too, can be a first indicator, a way to gather more information.

I've appreciated all this forum has provided, and have really attempted to make use of the information, and opportunities to be helped or provide help. There is no substitute, as far as I can see.

I totally agree with this statement !!

Although I dont post very often, I do feel that I share all your lifes and enjoy your company, us lurkers laugh and cry with you all, even if we dont show it !!

If they close these forums, I would really miss all of you.

Big hugs to you all and fingers crossed they keep them open in a usable format x

Thank you for allowing us to share with you.

Smoky

p.s. I have just joined up at SU, can I be cheeky and ask if someone verfiy me as a proper person please? I would have said normal but........... lol :)

Goodbye Resident Answers and thanks for all the fish posts.

I say this because RA actually died the day that Trout left.

I'm done with SL forums. Done with SL too. I choose the real world, even with its gravity and real responsibilities, because we can look into each other's eyes and hold each other's hands.

One last time:

1) Never set your land for sale "for anyone" when you want to sell it to a specific person. Even if the person you intend to sell it to is standing right next to you and there is no one else on the sim. Landbots buy land a lot faster than humans can.

2) Never abandon land. Set it a little lower than the lowest price on the mainland for sale list and it will sell in minutes.

Bye all.

This!

I spend far to much time lurking here on RAs instead of inworld but apart from the fun and sometimes the drama I have learnt a lot from older threads and have been given stacks of really good help when I've asked.

Long may they live on.

You're going for good? I wish you well, Raymond. I don't see any reason to persuade anyone to stay in SL, as it's just a hobby thing for almost everyone, and there are lots of other things to do, but I do wish you well in life.

Bye all.
Bye Ray, safe paths! Tell RL I'll be seeing her more often soon, I hope!

I find the ebb and flow of personalities on forums interesting of itself, so no one person's departure or arrival ruins the experience for me. And I get an endless rush from answering questions and learning from others' answers.

Off to check out Rime's thread, if it still lives.

But... but... I think I did a pretty good job on my EZ Bake ovens!
It is serious problem that light bulbs are not as hot as they used to be. EZ bake ovens are suffering seriously as a result. Just read some of the EZ bake forums for details.

Those compact flourescent bulbs just aren't quite the same.

EZ bake forums
Maybe that's what's changing in the forums, maybe we're gettin' an EZ Bake Oven forum.

It's about time! With the help of hundreds of new forum goers perhaps the EZ Bake Ovens can me made to work flawlessly and please everyone, just like the SL Forums has done for Second Life.

If you start a forum, and you don't have any friends you can lean on to provide preliminary posts to jumpstart it, how in the world do you get people to register and post in it? No one wants to read it since there's nothing posted, and no one wants to post since there's not any readers.

So far my idea is to create a bunch of fake accounts and simulate a bunch of posts and responses.
