Your website is also a matter of opinion, no rules or anything. Its all how you feel when people post. If you were so busy enforcing rules on your universe website then a few other people would be not there either. But since you ban people based on imaginary rules, its hard to follow rules only a few people know. Here its not like this. We can see the rules posted and click to read them. Again, who are all these people who were banned on my site for violating imaginary rules? Four people, including yourself, have been banned for various reasons. The remaining bans on the site have all been for posting spam, or one user who repeatedly tries to circumvent a ban to cause problems. As far as rules, if you think that the rules here have in any way been enforced fairly and non-arbitrarily, you are delusional. The larger danger here is that your forum posts are tied to your inworld status. If you violate some grey area forum rule, you risk losing your account on a whim with no recourse. It means those who do moderate here need to be held to nothing short of a perfect standard of moderation, as they can jeapordize your status in SL. Would you like to have your account deleted and lose your land, items, etc.. because you got into a forum argument? The worst part is that the very people who are moderating are simply other customers, not employees of LL. Customers have no business ruling over other customers, period. The resmod program has been unfair from the beginning, and customers have had no input into it. LL doesn't want to spend money on the forums paying someone to do a job they should be paying for,. _____________________

Third party forum comrades trying to get their buddy implanted as a resmod on the main forums? Classic! Notice that the thread starter and most if not all of the posters are all members of troublesome 3rd party forums. This would be a mistake IMO. It's just going to bring the riff raff here and make them think it's ok to post rude comments and get their buddy to BAN people that they don't like. Not to mention sharing information with people who *think* they are better than other people and want to rule the interwebz. Strife and the other resmods are doing a good job here. Strife is impartial and does not have an agenda. Is there an agenda here with this request? I mean all you people are big posters at 3rd party forums. Things on these forums are nice. Why don't you people who want him to be a resmod here just make him a resmod on you own forums? What's the point of having one of your buddies be a resmod here? :word: "Troublesome" third party forums? You mean the ones the Lindens keep naming and posting and insisting we use, rather than to have discussions on these forums? The "riff-raff?" Is that supposed to mean all the people who did as the Lindens asked and chose from the third party forums in order to have their discussions there, instead of here, where they once could? FlipperPA Peregrine for Resmod! I see how so many people from the other forums have -signed- this thread. It's not because they were browsing here and saw it and decided to post. It's because someone is telling them about it FROM the other forums so they can inject a mole here. I have another account on a 3rd party forum and got an message that is how I know and how I found out about this attempt. I do not see any of the forum regulars here posting much to say yes let's make this person a resmod. I don't even know him. But since it is obvious that this person is being nominated for the sole reasons that they "post on 3rd party forums a lot" and nominated because "they rock" by people FROM these other forums, it shows to me that they are pushing to get the new remod in for whack reasons. I care because I got banned from a 3rd party forum because I had a different opinion than the buddies there. I see a lot of rule breaking there but it is allowed since they are all friends I guess. If I have a different opinion I should be allowed to say it. What happened to freedom of speech? Isn't that why people start 3rd party forums so they can have more freedom to say what they want? If this person was so fair why didn't she say something when I got banned from there? She probably did say something but I bet it wasn't fair or nice. So if people all think they are going to bring the biased ways of running a forum in here it's wrong. That's why I care. Listen, I think you have this all wrong. You seem to think that there is some sort of antagonistic relationship between the other forums and this one. Or that people don't simply read and post to many of them, including this one. (As I do.) Nobody needs to have a "mole" here or anything like that; most people are perfectly aware of what goes on, and are aware that Strife said he is trying to get more resmods here. This isn't James Bond from Russia with love, or Spy vs Spy, or "us here" and "those over there" or anything like that. I have various opinions about the third party forums, and there are ones I like to post on, and ones I don't. But there really is no reason why anyone in SL, regardless of which forums they prefer to post on, can't give their opinion on this, is there? Some people have been posting on here for years. If some prefer to post to other forums now, that doesn't mean that their opinion shouldn't count, or they have some sort of underhanded motivation, or they're "the other side" or something. Remember (if you were here to remember it), LL very much wished and tried to facilitate people going to third party forums for all their discussions. coco _____________________
