Ps There is no privacy in SL if you are where other people can see you and snap snapshot. Don't you own a site called snapzillo where people take pictures other other people's stuff and post them to your website? Do they have to have permission from the owner of the land or buildings or avatars to post them?

Sometimes peoples opinions ARE negative and if you cant live with someone giving you a negative opinion then its your own problem. Theres lots of negative opinions in this forum and positive ones too. You cant stop me or anyone else from reading what you wrote and wanting to offer a reason why they think its not a good idea.

Yes, they do have to have permission - it is part of the terms of service of the site, and any images that are requested to be removed are.

Let's not pretend, Crystal, your blog was purely about embarassing people who were doing things you did not agree with. What is to say you would not apply the same logic here, and treat those who you do not like differently? You would be an absolutely horrible candidate for resmod.

That isn't fair. The thread was actually light-humoured and fun until somebody decided to start attacking everybody in it on page three. You can hardly blame people for responding in kind when they've just been called trouble, riff-raff and insinuations made about why they're here. Exactly the same happened in another thread created in the appropriate place to promote another forum, and again the people who responded were tarred with the same brush.

As it happens, plenty of people posting right from the beginning of this thread have been posting here recently (as well as in the long term) but I guess you'd only notice that if you read every single message on the forums, which I imagine you probably don't because they're a high-bandwidth affair.

I liked the original proposal that Chance wrote, and I have nothing against the light-humoured banter thing. I'm talking about that personal vendetta thing. And if Josh has achieved on thing with his very special way of posting, it's that Chance's application will be instantly binned - NICE work, Josh! I have no idea if it really WAS to be taken seriously, but it was well written and funny. Unfortunately, the bad part of this thread has probably killed it.

I should add that that thread isn't typical of SLU at all. The kind of comments being made would have triggered a similar response on _any_ forum. Anybody clicking beyond that thread will see that it's actually a pretty friendly place.
