Proposal for a new resmod

Belatedly, but thank you. The thing is, an awful lot of scripters have become incredibly irritated by the fact that one can't even post a simple indented scripting example without it ending up looking like a dog's dinner and being completely unreadable if it includes more than a couple of events or functions, and I am certainly not the first to think "god damn it I am not going to waste my time here any more if I can't even have that simple thing". But we do still want to help people with their questions. And there is no indication that anything will be done; the latest Linden Jira response has been "yeah well we're really busy innit", after many many months. Thus one has to do what one can.

This thread is about your buddy being a resmod, not me.
If you want tell everyone why i would make a bad resmod you can start your own thread or find one that has already been started. You constantly saying I would make a bad resmod in this thread doesnt make sense.

I feel silly repeating that, but I WAS WONDERING why people started commenting on the "new resmods" thing NOW after the thread's been months old already. I found it strange.

And I seriously can't repeat the things you said over at SC. I already said the same thing to you at SC, that I think that's not the kind of language one should use in public. And it WAS worse than a lot of things I have read in my life.

It is perfectly valid, since you are calling his qualifications into question here and started your own thread campaigning to be a resmod.

So how is having someone who posts a lot on 3rd party forums going to get everyone who stopped posting to start again? Why would this special person be able to get you to start posting here? Do they offer the buddys some type of protection or help? What would this buddy do so different that isnt being done already?

I said this earlier in this thread. It is because certain people are sending around private messages in 3rd party forums (at least 2 that I know of now thats doing it) to come here and post to hope to have this person made a resmod. It looks like a group effort.

Then you dont like it here thats why you have your own 3rd party forums to play on. Go play there. you dont have to post here do you? Do you really have to take over every internet forum thats related to SL?

regardless of whether I get it or don't get it, what do you want to achieve with your posts in this thread? You say there was a time when everything was better, alright. Then Strife made it bad and LL closed down General Discussion. Okay. But what is it that you're trying to do now? If you want to change anything why do you think LL will suddenly listen??? I thought you all agreed that this forum is dead and you moved on, and we all know that LL doesn't see this as important anyway, so what do you think you can achieve? From your point of view as represented by your posts, it seems futile. From my point of view, such a futile attempt easily comes across as trolling. Or at the very least, as whingeing on about something you can't change anyway.

Well, that's exactly what this thread is. I'm sure the OP et.al. know that resmod appointment is not by election. This thread is just a concrete demonstration that oldbies would be willing to return if forum moderation changed.

As such, I don't think this thread is trolling.

But I wonder, who's the intended audience? Strife? no. LL? no. Do the returnees see how bizarre this whole thing looks to newer folks? As you say, Joshua, we have no perspective on 'how things used to be'. Strife's hand is relatively light nowadays - so much of what you say about him seems unrecognizable. Many here don't go to other forums, so all they know of you is the 3 threads this week. These threads are protest/disruption ones, so some here may not be clear that they WANT you back! Personally, I think it could only help to have more experienced residents around ... Ordinal, Des and suchlike are huge assets. But since it's been a good long time since others of you actually posted helpfully here, don't be amazed that newer folks aren't falling all over themselves to second your nominations.

Strife was made a resmod without any input from those customers he suddenly had power over (even though he is simply another paying customer). In addition, hundreds of abuse reports pointing out his egregious behavior fell upon deaf ears because LL has abandoned these forums. They have made no secret of that.

Now that volunteers are being called for, we are hoping that someone will get in who will moderate as a moderator should, not someone who fancies themselves the hall monitor and makes comments about being the police of these forums. We aren't trying to get "our own" resmod in, simply offering support to someone we think would make an excellent resmod.

Sometimes children need a 'hall monitor' and given some of the posts on this thread, I can why a lot of your threads would have been closed down. Childish doesn't even begin to describe them.

Strife seems pretty cool to me, and you guys make him look INCREDIBLY cool. God forbid that these forums should fall into your hands. It would be the end of them. Not that they will. Even LL isn't that daft

In the thread about recruiting resmods that Strife locked, he stated that there would be no SL forum changes until the "Community Manager*" was hired which I expect will happen sometime between the release of Mono and the heat death of the universe.
