It's cute.
And ASCII art is cool. I see you are too young to understand this.

And yes, I hope Strife stays.

*goes off to watch the 1988 film Akira for nostalgic reasons*

I haven't watched Akira in ages. Dubbed or subbed?

I haven't done ASCII art in ages, it's a lot of work if you don't use specialized software. I found doing it drove me stir-crazy. It would be more bearable listening to a book on tap though.

Cabbits really are the cutest =^_^=

It is time LL actually listened to their paying customers and reopened the general forums. I would hold you to the same standards I hold Strife, unprofessional conduct will be called unprofessional.

I would love to see the General Discussion forum reopened but we don't have the moderation manpower to do so. I submit all questioned decisions for Linden Review (unless they are old decisions). If it's unprofessional LR hasn't said so.

Only a fool doesn't use all the weapons in the arsenal, especially when the lesser ones don't have any effect. I try not to escalate things but there is a limit to tolerance.

Yes, General would be nice. The night after I volunteered I realized moderating simply wouldn't be enough. The forums really need an administrator, to really rework it from the ground up. There is too many dead forums, necrotic threads, and general now-irrelevant information abounding here. It's become overgrown like an abandoned lawn. The forums need to be started over clean, with a General Forum, and many other much needed forums, to make it orderly and a place people can use beneficially. It needs to be actively moderated, and most importantly the two most important parties, the Residents, and the Lindens, both need to come back here with the right attitude and outlook. That means being positive, cooperative, and open to real discussion. To put it more colorfully, These forums are an infected wound, and it's about time they were cleaned, bandaged and the healing was allowed to begin. Really otherwise, Jumpy is right, if that can't be done, then maybe they should die.

For instance, I wouldn't continue to allow Jumpman to basically run amok on the forums as he is. He's not contributing anything worthwhile, and seems to have forgotten the purpose of these forums, which is help and communcation amongst residents of Second Life

I agree. I think any thread he contributes in should be locked, but I finally just chose to click to ignore him.

The dubbed version-I remember watching it six time in a row when it was in the cinema....in 1988...it really was a nostalgic experience watching it again after a long time. My Japanese is restricted to ordering food and saying hello, and when I watch subtitled films, I ALWAYS listen, too, and it makes me really nervous if I don't understand a thing! ;)

I did ASCII art when I was...younger, but I soon lost the patience for that. I just admire others' proficiency in it now!

And that particular cabbit....I find that dance especially hypnotising. As cats and rabbits are my fave animals, that's just too cute to be true.

@Jumpy: POKEMON? You really ARE too young...and I wish you would just learn not to post ten times in a row to answer ten posts-it sometimes happens to me, too, but NOT like what you are doing. Logorrhoea, I told you.

i am NOT copy and pastin ur links, LL should get a better host for thwe forums a decided flaw. ascii art BLOWS and anime? do u like magic the gathering too?

:;laughs:: they complain about ascii art because it's too low tech, but don't keep up with what's high tech....

there's an announcment post, at the top of the forum page, about bb code being off... IN that post, there's a link to a grease monkey script for firefox, that will REPLACE the bbcode formatting, so it looks just like it did...

it apparently works in opera too...

cut and paste? that's low tech, I just click...

don't forget to thank strife for putting up the grease monkey script =)

(Anime, not just the crap they tend to play on cartoon network at 2 am, but the good stuff too... gorgeuos art, intelligent story lines, and .... nvm, you'd probably like friends better)

EDIT Ryo-ohki !?!?! ZOMG I LOVED that little kitty/bunny/spaceship heeee.... sry, had a moment there... I feel ashamed that I didn't recognize Strife's avatar or possible correlation with Trigun...

I'm not going to worry about him for another week. One of the things a ResMod can't do is ban people. Its a good thing and a bad thing. Do this job long enough and you realize it's more a good thing then bad. You don't want people saying you banned people. There is no better way to refute the claim that you got someone banned then to point out you don't have that power.

Ryo-ohki is Tenchi... didn't much like the cat in Trigun.

i agree with the overall sentiment, but the idea of 'starting clean' makes my stomach turn. years of community support and scripting deleted for seemingly no other reason than 'spring cleaning'. thats a show-stopper for me.

Well the problem is, all the gems are obscured by all the muck. Nobody can find anything useful, it just needs to be cleared away. I've run forums before and those who know where to find the gems will usually bring them along to the new forums. I really don't think there's anything posted that isn't known by the group of forum regulars that post day after day. And there is a lot of information in here that can only be called 'obsolete'. We have the technology, we can rebuild it! :)

On the topic of moderation is the search for new <s>victims</s> resmods coming any further or is it still just people putting their name forward (myself included)?

Hey there!
I'd like to be considered as a ResMod if possible.
----------------------
I have been in the Live Help position in the past, I am still in the Mentor volunteer group and assist daily, and have done alot of instructor work.
I have patroled the forums every day, trying to help people, ect - I know the rules of the forums very much so and have experiance moderating them.

I moderate a huge forum daily, and always keep it tip-top. I know I won't let you down while moderating this one if hired!

I have alot of time in-game, and out-game, so I would be great for the position!

oh I wasn't thinking of the kitty in tri-gun...in fact it wasn't a character correlation at all... but maybe I'm stretching the connection :;shrug::

still I loved some of the characters from that show.... among them Ryo-ohki.... cabbits are cute, and I think it's even funnier as your avatar considering all the remixes that poor mass-market-spaceship-bunny-cat went through, including cameos as opposing genders. keeps em guessing lol.

back OT, where's the fresh meat? =)

I've managed to contact certain underlings, evil spirits, secretaries of secretaries, and assorted minions, who will contact my father. When he learns I'm in this kind of place, he'll have them transfer me to one of those classy joints where they treat you...properly.

LIKE A GUEST! LIKE A PERSON! SHEETS! TOWELS! LIKE A BIG HOTEL WITH GREAT DRUGS FOR THE NUT CASE LUNATIC MANIAC DEVILS

Sorry. Really sorry. Got a little agitated. The thought of escaping crossed my mind and suddenly...suddenly I felt

LIKE BENDING THE FUCKING BARS BACK, RIPPING OFF THE GODDAMN WINDOW FRAMES AND...EATING THEM, YES, EATING THEM, AND LEAPING, LEAPING...

You dumb assholes! I'm a mental patient! I'm supposed to act out. Wait til you morons find out who I am. My father's gonna be really upset.

AND WHEN MY FATHER GETS UPSET, THE GROUND SHAKES! MY FATHER IS GOD! I WORSHIP MY FATHER.

You are right, I should have properly attributed that. It is from Brad Pitt's role of Jeffery Goines in "12 Monkeys" directed by Terry Gilliam and written by David and Janet Peoples.
