I have the same "problem"-one of the forums is long gone and the other doesn't have any of my moderation attempts left after several forum software upgrades and server moves, and what little you *could* still see before I left is in the moderator forum which is restricted to current moderators only.... ;) AND they are in German....

Funny as that my seem, in Alyx's case I can even verify that, because we are/were mods in the same forums - German ones, both of them, and one, tied to a now-defunct role-playing game, now long dead.

And while I'm at it ... Not wanting to apply myself, I'd still suggest new ResMods should be a good mix between the continents and time zones so that there is some kind of automatic rotation (called "sleep" by some).

So far I only have one person who can provide work product but they aren't really interested in the position. All the other forums have either evaporated, changed drastically or are private. So everyone is back on an level playing field. One thing I hadn't counted on is that many are multilingual (sleep :D). The deciding factors are post history, post style, and level of active in the community.

Those with a history of positive community involvement are a shoo-in.

And while the rest of what you say is true, I'm quite happy with one heavy-workload forum (which, by the way, is moderated in a much stricter way than this one is ever going to be). I also think your contribution to this forum here has been a lot greater, and more varied, than mine.

I'm going to type this quickly before common sense overtakes me, but I miiight be interested.

I simply can't imagine Company forums closing. But on the other hand, I'm already insanely busy. Who knows, there might be some middle ground that might work out.

I am on these forums nearly every day. I have been in Second Life for over 1 year.
I am even-handed, detached, and constructive.
I have one or two posts that don't fit that description, which I regret. But this description true for the most part.
In my participation in debates, I continually re-evaluate my position in light of new information. I am willing to admit when I am wrong.

i have great qualifications see my past posts. i know what all the bad stuff you r not supposed to do is. i am petty, small minded and vindictive too. and i can be real snide when (if) i ever get the opportunity to lock some threads. i aint a real good snitch (dry or wet) so i prob wouldnt be sendin in a lotta crap for linden review (but perhaps ol Hollywood Phil and the rest of the 'dirt-face' Lindens will welcome that. less work) :P

No, No more Resmods! I've devoted myself to harassing the hell out of Strife and then You go and throw more into the mix! :.) Despite my nasty res mod views in the past, I'm glad they won't be putting the entire work load on You anymore. It is a lot to handle. I just hope the new ones are as patient with me and my res mod rants.

I think Jumpman's posting history speaks for itself. He would make a fine moderator on SC (oh wait, SC dissolved).

One of the more effective ways of keeping track of repeat offenders is with dossier threads.

I'm really looking for folks with a greater post quantity, in the 500+ range. There aren't so many of them volunteering so I'll probably reduce it to 200+.
