To Anshe:

Hopefully someone else can run the sims or thats a ton of people losing their homes. And community sims like the forest. It happens when you don't pay your account fees on time. it happened to me once before i sold you my land in mallard a few months ago. It even almost happened when the forest couldnt pay for its self that time just recently.

I'm not going to say anything bad. This might be a trick to get names and ban them. I'm simply consurned for the people who rent from you. And mostly im worried about The Forest. i know we arent doing that great, but people like me, and ron are atleast TRYING to keep things in order. I hope you can apreciate my help. i know we've had our problems with each other in the past, but ive put that in the past.

I'm sure there is a plan in place - for example, you have one month to go to Premium and pay tier direct to LL for the land you own, or go elsewhere in the meantime.... or on 1st May your land will be reclaimed by Governor Linden.

I would guess that the collapse of a major player in-world and the subsequent fallout from it is something that LL have spent time looking into already. Or at least they should. I don't expect a FEMA-esque cockup from this anyway.

Frankly, after seeing this, it gives me good cause to question whether any farther monetary investment in the Second Life platform is prudent, and I don’t say this lightly. I will be watching with GREAT interest to see how this situation unfolds. If this is truly how LL treats big business in SL, then I’m not sure if I have any farther aspirations to become a big business in SL.

Perhaps.... it's only a game after all?

LL OWES TO ANSHE!

Very true. LL cant really ban her. I think its a trick to ban people for attacking her. I wont take anyones side on this matter. I had a problem in the past with anshechung.com but ive put it in the past. Infact right now im the security officer of a furry themed sim in dreamland. im not working for her, or being paid, or paying her. Im just simply helping out a community that neads it.

I'll be watching this event with keen interest. This, and the A$ fiasco, could very well be defining moments for SL.

I don't know whether it's real, a joke or a trick as you think... but if you look at section 7.1 of the TOS, I think you'll find they can ban anyone, anytime, for anything... or for nothing.

OK, I must be missing something here Shaun, but how do screenshots supplied to you by the person in question amount to proof-positive of the situation?

Anshe has been shown to be a manipulator many times, in fact that's why she started this thread! To take screenshots provided by Anshe as 100% proof would seem extremely short sighted. It might be true, but they might not be. To make such grandious statements on the back of them as you have done, seems to be premature or misguided.

All I can see is grand-standing by Anshe. I strongly suspect the truth is not exactly how it's being painted by Anshe, because the way it's painted just doesn't add up.

I didn't ignore that part - simply didn't agree with your conclusions.

If the account was suspended.

Lets focus on that key word here - Suspended - not Banned - this is a sensationalistic tactic for a start.

Until such time as it could pay its arrears - then thats not a bad thing.

Accounts are seperate - my wifes account, my account - they are billed to the same place - but seperate.

If I don't have USD in my SL account, should that remainder come from my wifes? I think not - it should come from the CC that pays the account.

Now if my account is suspended because I racked up a bill my CC can't cover - and they don't take money from my wife to cover my loss - is that right and fair?

I think it is.. my CC can't cover my debt....

If my wife cashes out and that brings it so my CC can cover what is owed and my account is reinstated - this is a good thing. But the responsibility to make sure I have enough money to cover what is owed is mine.

If I screw up my business accounting - is that LL's fault? I don't think so.

And airing your dirty laundry on the forums when things don't go her way is the OP's constant tactic.

Yes. My SL account balances have been +13000 US$ and in addition Linden Lab was holding 50000 US$ in check process money when they ban my account. But even if one of my account would still have been negative, we know that the usual procedure involve at least several days before account get blocked.

I have all reason to assume that the true purpose of this is something else.

Anshe,

I had a credit card stolen about a year ago and had to switch accounts. As part of that process, I identified fraudulent charges. Somehow a 9.95 charge to Linden Lab was chargedback along with the rest of the charges I said were fraud - this was a charge from like September or October of 2004, and at this point it was March or April of 2005. Even though my normal tier is $292 a month, and even with no billing issues with them in 3 years, my account was immediately suspended.

I didn't receive any notice from them - no one called me and tried to resolve this. I was immediately locked out of SL over $9.95, including the forums. The usual procedure on billing disputes apparently does not involve several days. It took me nearly 2 days to get the whole thing straightened out as well, thanks to Linden Lab's "High Quality Customer Service(TM)". If they would do it over 9.95 a month, I am certain they would do it over much higher amounts of money.

Thats whats worrying me. It's not mainland land. It's dreamland. So if they dont get paid for, everyone living their will no longer have a sim to go home to.

I've noticed the same. When i used a Credit card for my account, i used to get charged $1 repeatedly. Then i switched to paypal and they quieted down. XD

I'm satisfied with these perticular screenshots. They support the conversation that I had with Anshe about her iminent banning prior to its occurance. In the absense of this conversation prior to the event, I may be more skeptical of screenshots.

So the charge-back triggered LL's actions? That seems perfectly understandable to me. Even if the charge-back was accidental or erroneous, if a merchant is notified of a charge-back on an account then they will obviously take immediate action on that account to limit any further charge-backs, especially as the transaction was from months before. That's just a normal way to operate. Not great for the end user, but not bad business on their behalf either.

I expect to see an "Instant Land Baron" package appearing for auction on Ebay any day now....

Yes, HER screenshots support what SHE said to you in your conversation. Of course they would! This adds nothing to the reliability of the screenshots. Nothing at all.
