Yes. My SL account balances have been +13000 US$ and in addition Linden Lab was holding 50000 US$ in check process money when they ban my account. But even if one of my account would still have been negative, we know that the usual procedure involve at least several days before account get blocked.

I have all reason to assume that the true purpose of this is something else.
Gonna sue?

Maybe they're banning you for all the attacks you made on Ginko (which I agree with you, but it was against the TOS), or for always posting in the wrong forums, or for your many other things that you always get away with? Might have just been easier to say it was billing problems than to tell you all that you've done. (If this were only true :()

Well, sure that might be the usual procedure, but as such a unique SL entity, Anshe, you should expect special treatment....it seems you may have gotten it.

I don't believe it for a minute, though. :p

I'll believe this isn't an April Fool's if she's still 'banned' next week.

Well that very well may be. I know I wouldn't take a resident threatenning the stability of my business lightly if I owned it, however once again I do know from personal experience that...

1) checks, especially onces that large are subject to being held until they clear a bank and...

2) Linden gives a lot more time than that between disabling and actually removing an account, and having worked for a check company before I can tell you the time they allot is a lot longer than it takes a check to clear.

damnit someone wake siggy before this gets locked!

Here dude - and giggling a lil bit - to be honest my opinon is that the rule that applies to one applies to all. And if its a payment problem it should be handled by no more - nor no less than how someone like.... say yourself was handled :P

Personally I'm finding it VERY hard to beleive that the date has nothing to do with it - and that one indignant SL account will turn and say with tear in one eye on how SL people treat her so bad and be sooo mean.

My money is on April Fools - but essentially it's win win from my viewpoint :)

If it was banned - then maybe you have to look at why... dunno.... account trading etc? who knows.

You know, if you're the responsible resident that you've many times assured me you are, and if you honestly belive LL would do such a thing as suspend your primary account access for political reasons, then I think what you should be posting is a warning to all your renters that they best find new digs. Becasue I think that the threat to... no, sorry - the suggestion that you'd further destabilize and split the microeconomy in SL and force a good many of those renters of yours to use a second currency based on the existence of a decidedly fungible (*waves at Enabran*) avatar might just provoke such a response.

On a serious note, this is how it works. From the day your account is due you have 7 (seven) days to pay up. After that seven days your account is disabled and you have an additional 30 days to pay your account. After the 30 days is up.... you're history.

That is all.

Yes Jillian...in truth I have been following this since I saw it, for my own personal reasons, and I am finding a lot of reason to question the veracity of some of these statements. It might be adviseable for those poor residents to have a back up plan in place. I know I always do.
Pardon my seriousness on this most Eris inspired of days, but it is only prudent to have alternate plans in SL - a rather dynamic environment if you get my drift.

But even if everything Anshe said in her opening and following posts is entirely accurate (and we all know how it works with these my-side-their-side-vs-the-truth situations) minus the conspiracy theory, then I see two things coming of this come Monday: Diddly and squat. They'll fix the billing problem and everyone can get back with the status quo. Hip hip!

Now, if the conspiracy theory is accurate. Woo. We got ourselves some Grade-A drama there, folks. :D

True, and I have never known or heard of it taking 37 days for a check to clear....unless of course it couldn't clear.

The excuse used is obviously that my main account balance was negative for short time (about one day) after I was suddenly charged 25000 US$ at once for auction and tier. It only took me hours to transfer money to take care of 20000 US$ of this. At -4900 US$ I asked Linden Lab to use money from my second account "Anshee Chung". On that account there is +13000 US$. This money was used by Linden Lab, but my account was still banned.

Answers are here I think - seems they followed their protocol.. sucks to be you.. but why should you be different from anyone else?

At the baseline what applies to you should also apply to me - and all.

Exactly. They, however, did not wait seven days. This all happen within one or two days.

Yes, it's true, Anshe Chung doesn't show up in the finder. Who wants to bet that Anshe called LL and said 'Hey, I got this great idea for an April Fool's, send me to the Cornfield so I can tell everyone I'm banned. It'll be a hoot!' ??
