From: Lewis Nerd There were men and women amongst them, and many of them said that they wished people would love them for what they are instead of wanting them for their money.
I'm not sure what you define as a 'beautiful woman' but several of them, having spent huge amounts of money on plastic surgery, I wouldn't touch with a prim penis let alone my own.
Are you in game? I'd love to see your store, because I've never manged to found it.
Lewis I'll IM you when I get in world. I'd like to meet you too

Why is it everyone always want to fix the economy by limiting the supply side. What ever happened to doing things that increase the demand side. Like creating better content. Oh, wait that would involve making something and not simply reselling things you got for free. besides the profit margin in creating interesting content is not as high as taking skins off turbosquid and reselling them in SL.
Hmmmm easier to fix the supply side, huh? Talk about lazy.

From: Jamie Bergman or as Smart. Well I am not quite sure about that. I found your in game store after some careful searching and to be frank (and although I like the disclaimer notice) the store build was riddled with flicker and I dont understand why you have all that wasted space on the roof..... Well it might be bare at the moment but I was thinking of renting your roof space out, all I need is one of those script tool things from SLExchange that appear to fool the prim land allowence by rezzing things in and out and hey presto I will be away..... Or I will park my Airship on the road outside your shop and rent or sell things you do (for half price) on the deck. Is that okay Jamie?

From: Jamie Bergman Before it (continues) to kill our economy. Just Say No to "Free Money". End Communism! I say just say no to the reselling of free content at gouge artist prices. Ask maybe a buck for it for a finder's fee, but hundreds for a helicopter that's free? Or for a space type glide racer that's toally free elsewhere BY the true creator? Why don't you take up a new skil...learn to make some content to sell instead of these steaming piles of fertilizer by you and your alts in the forums?

I'm sorry...I just have to stop and say... ROFLMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Welfare Tuesday? WTF? I pay my monthly dues...and then some. But I don't begrudge free members their 50L a week. Come on..what can they really buy with that anyway? Laziness? Try and consider that not everyone has an SL specific skill they can get paid to do. We're not all builders, designers, scriptors, animators.... SL isn't like RL in that every shop needs employees to ring up sales and assist buyers. Here sales occur just by clicking on a box. People aren't employed in factories to mass produce articles of clothing...or bicycles...Here things are magically duplicated without sweat on someone elses part. Kill Welfare Tuesday...I vote SL taxes your ill-begotten earnings to fund welfare tuesday

Isn't that what the 'free market' is?
Get free stuff - and market it?

I can buy a helicopter for 500 lindens. Sounds like the economy is doing great! I couldnt buy the windshield for 500 bucks out here in the real world. Whats everybody bitching about??? Oh wait, its the people trying to make REAL money with this video game!! I get it now!! Guess Im kinda slow sometimes. They want me paying 500 bucks for that windshield in here too!!! Isnt this supposed to be about escapism and fun? Thats why they call it SECONDLIFE and not FIRSTLIFE. Get a real job and leave my play money alone.

O God...Plaese no...NOT ReagoBushinomics in SL! LOL Well, this post really does smack of it. And I found it when I tried to post a reply to some fool who calls the stipend on Tues "Welfare Tuesday". I applaud Lindens policy to keep a free side of SL open to newbies. Yes, it does make for some lesser quality items in world, but is more than made up for by the stimulation of the economy it brings. Why? Because these free players spread the word to others who can try before they buy thus growing our world. As well, some eventually become premium members and provide a more permanent financial input. Any ideas of trying to turn SL into a "Gated Community" complete with covenants to restrict expression and building, are a sure death knoll for further growth. Not getting paid for their creations doesn't stop _all_ people from making content, Musuko. For that matter most of the content for various games (that allow modding) is made and distributed for free, simply because enough people like to make things in their spare time and show off what they can do.

Allowing countless newbies allows content providers new customers to sell their stuff. This does nothing for the current residents except bring a flood of children and griefers. The content providers desire for money is going to be Second Life's downfall. In their defense most American firms are being "run into the ground" to make their managers some extra profit. These people not worrying about the future but only with their present needs and desires. The current "growth" is an out of control cancer. Your "expression" is called griefing. The building done is UGLY and eyesores. What is so great about a second life where grid attacks, loss of service attacks and just being overun by annoying children is a common place event?

"Not getting paid for their creations doesn't stop _all_ people from making content, Musuko."
No, but it will stop most. Making things in SL costs real money: in upload fees, in land for stores or in rent for vendor spaces. My costs are $600ish a year. I'm not going to PAY $600 to WORK to better YOUR game.
If you don't think my creations are worth the expense of covering my costs, I would stop working for your benefit and spend that money on someone more deserving; like aid charities.

It is so sad to hear that you are "moving on" from second life. Good luck with your next game! Nobody pays for my membership, tier and rental expenses but myself. It is the cost paid for playing this game. Bye Bye and good luck!

"It is so sad to hear that you are "moving on" from second life."
Who said I was moving on?
*sigh* Some people don't THINK.
Made simple for you: if you like and buy what I make, it covers my costs and I continue to make things. If you like what I make but refuse to buy it, then my costs are not covered and I leave, and you don't get things you like in the game. If you don't like what I make, then I'm not working hard enough.
I have a challenge for you: look at all the things you use in Second Life and deduct everything that you paid for. What you have left is all you have to play with in an SL without money. Like it?
Musuko.
