The world economy is based on a ponzi scheme for that matter.

Uh, no, it's not. Economic growth is not the same as a ponzi scheme. Neither the real world economy nor SL is based on a ponzi scheme.

A ponzi scheme is where the money from new investors is paid to older investors as "interest" or "dividends" As long as the scheme grows, profits are paid out. The rate of return on those profits, though, declines as the money from new investors is spread over more and more older investors.

In the real world, value is created by labor and investment. Ore is mined and made into gold. The value of the gold is more than the value of the ore. The beauty of capitalism is that it's based on tangibles, not just the transfer of wealth from person to person.

In SL, money is raised by LL through 1) the initial cost of the game, 2) the subscription charges and 3) land fees (tier, sim charges etc). LL has a continuing inflow of cash.

So, I think I'll take the leap and sum this all up.

Anshe: Ginko is risky.
Ginko: Well duh, all investment is risky.

Insert interpersonal warfare here.
Spam Spam Spam Spam
ZOMG
Flamewar
Grrr......

Let me swing a little clue here.

Anshe is essentially a realtor.
Ginko is essentially an investment firm.

Both of these kinds of entities exist RL, both of them succeed and fail based on how they operate. Neither of them are insured by the government, but do have the option to purchase private insurance if they feel the need.

Risk is everywhere people, its part of life, its part of any economy. Heck, Ginko even has the good sense to inform you of the risk when you sign up with them. I own land in an alt. I keep a little money in Ginko. I know the risk I'm taking, and I'm okay with it. If you're not okay with risk, then don't do it. This is not very hard to understand.

Wanna invest in Anshe? Buy some Dreamland.
Wanna invest in Ginko? Deposit some money.
Don't want to risk your valueable stipend? Then don't.

Ginko Money Scare (Pulling out all at once ?)

If you put enough scare in to the people on a hunch .
And people are scared of it and pull all ther emoney at the same time The Business will fall or lock the funds to protect itself cause if you loose all the investers at once you can not expect to handle that kind of fall... so We do not have fact on Ginko but who would post this but the only person ginko Can do the most damage too ..If its a scam then it was a good one and shame on us who invested thousands. or even a dollar

but if a enough people panic and run to the atms there wont be money to cover it even if they were legit. so the atms will go in a lock out stage as most have done if you try to withdraw a large sum. I liked ginko and it looked promising the money i invested and spent would about = the investment over the time i had in there. so all i do is say buyer be warned and learn what you invest in.
