Now you're changing the subject. We're not talking about a lack of debate. We're talking about approach. It's unfortunate that people tend to blend the approach into their reaction to the substance, but your boy does it as much or more than anyone on these forums.

I welcome Prokofy's ideas and POV. I would like to discuss the idea of planned and themed neighborhoods. Make a thread with a good, balanced proposition. I'll be there.

Gwyn, you haven't talked to me about these matters, you've gotten a one-sided story here from Traxx.

As far as I know it is not a crime against the TOS to show another person a conversation you have on a notecard inside the game. If it is, ban me. I will come in the game, Gwyn, I will present some notecards, your eyes will bug out, I promise you, and you will "get it".

Traxx indeed went to my customers, agitated them, told them I was scamming them, put words in their mouths. One customer said that when she went over to talk to the white tower guys, they already started telling her that Prokofy was pressuring her to sell and no one should do business with him. These are the facts -- attempts to scare off my customers, destroy my business, accuse me of fraud, all because I happened to buy land next to his client's tower. Huh? What's up with that?

There's a lot up with that, and there's a big back-story, of which you only know part, but let's rehearse the bare facts:

Your notion that "things are not going well for me in the game" comes from Traxx, and not any conversation with me or actual review of my affairs. Look at my communities. Look where you live. It's almost entirely rented. Business is booming. People take even more rentals in other sims. It is not some big money maker by any stretch and it is often hard even to cover tier but there is no "floundering" as you yourself know perfectly well but just opening your eyes and flying around the 4 near sims where you live. Everywhere you will see land that I sold, am renting, or am developing. If this is floundering, well, whatever. I'm happy to flounder. It's ok for newbie birds to flounder.

All your notions of my "failures" come from your long convos with this individual behind my back, not from talking to me or even flying beyond your own rental. Please. Spare me. Fly a little further. You'll get it. It is this constant need to fight the backwash of someone malicious discrediting me in this way in the game, going behind my back all the time to friends, neighbours, and customers, that really has necessitated the larger struggle I have taken on against the FIC. It is a fight that needs fighting on matters of principles, but I have ample personal reasons to take it on.

It is Traxx's famous pet theory that I "flounder" and he "helped" me and because of "my fights" he couldn't remain in our group anymore and left Refugio. This is his feverish "take" on it and he views it in his genius to be "the truth" and no amount of patient presentation of the facts can get him off this, so I no longer try, but you're intelligent, just look around.

What kind of "help" is it for him to delete all the buildings and destroy all my work and time in promoting the club and mall in them, including sales of rental space? Huh? This mall meltdown incident of December 2004 is a stellar, crystalline example of the central core evil of SL: that builders are feted because they make a visible product in world that everyone can ooh and ahh at, but that event-planners, merchants, landlords, tier-payers --we are crap, we are invisible, we don't count, and we are even evil because we never understand our place, and our need to worship uberarchitects. A builder can always pocket his creation and stiff you. A developer with tier, land, events is a nothing, and has nothing to show for his considerable labour -- nothing tangible in the game, that can be feted.

But the idea that builders are feted, and organizers are shit is never one I live by, I struggle against it endlessly. Sorry, that doesn't fly with me, the notion that a society is only a set of bricks and mortars created by craftsmen, with no spirit or content or life in them, only crystalline pure mathematical beauty.

Here are the facts:

-- In our first land group, I paid tier -- lots, for a newbie -- and didn't get to have build permissions on the land because my buiding was crap.
-- In our second, I paid all the heavy tier on 12,000 and then finally 25,000 k or more square meters, without an ounce from Traxx. He collected dwell, and collected Linden stipends for events he organized using this land.
--I organized events, busted my ass, jumped through hoops, to make things happen that celebrated him, his buildings, and everyone else's buildings, and he got ratings, pluses, glory, calling cards, and feting galore, while all I got to do was be sure to delete the drinks table after the event because Traxx hated "clutter" and was not "my fucking butler".
--There are many, many stories of extraordinary venom and malice, and all of them center around a belief that I am engaging in venom and malice and therefore deserve malicious retaliation, but hey, where's the venom when you give someone land to build on for four months solid, night and day, and constantly work to promote them and their architecture and their colleagues' architecture?
--Traxx deleted the mall on Ross and the club on Refugio in one grand vicious swoop, even after I had worked days to sell space and organize events. It damaged business and paralyzed operations for days and days. I was able to fight my way out of this with difficulty, but the damage was lasting. It is the right of an architect to pocket his creation --God knows the Lindens sure protect that all right! But they never protect the hours, the tiers, the tears -- and I mean it literally -- that come with paying for land, organizing land, promoting land and the buildings on it. It is like the silent, invisible work of slaves or wives in patriarchal societies -- unseen, unappreciated, but vital.
--The reason for these vicious actions are long stories that take time to explain but boil down to one thing: a refusal to understand that the dispute in Wetheral was the fault of a player lagging the sim to 37 fps with scripted weapons, and not my fault or another players' fault; and a belief that I am vicious for attacking the feted core and hated by everyone and "hurting the community" whereas anyone who builds is a big contributor and to be feted. No way. I won't accept a universe with those fascistic values in them.
-- After this falling-out, I figured Traxx would not harass me or malign me -- what for? And while I made very effort to restore good relations, I did not harass or malign him. Whenever his customers asked me for a recommendation about him -- and two people did come to me asking me whether they could trust him and work with him -- I said, yes, the could, he is an excellent architect.

What's changed about that now? Now, I will say: get a copy of your building, quick. Ask me for the backstory. Don't promote him with events on your land where you pay tier, or he may accuse you of ripping him off for free architecture.

So what happens yesterday? I discover that he is going to customers and telling them I am a scam artist and cheating people, stealing their land, and stealing their tier.

Gwyn, you are a member of my group. Go in the group. Look at the members. Contact those who donate tier. Ask them if they feel their land or tier was stolen. End of story. No issue here. Move along.

It's just another example of someone early feted and apprenticed to the other uber-architects thinking much of themselves, stepping on someone who helped them get their start, and then adding insult to injury (after the deletion of buildings)

Version 1.6 isn't going to fix that, Gwyn. I don't care if objects of buildings can be welded to land. And officer in the group who refuses to do that for you, who stays on your land, uses your land, collects your dwell, gets stipends using events on your land, gets ratings from your events on the land -- well, such a person will not make use of the 1.6 capacity to weld objects to land, now will they? They will claim that I benefited from "free architecture" -- like I benefit from someone deleting a mall where I sold space, or a club where I announce events???

The architects I deal with now know that I never cheat them. I never take "free architecture". I pay them standard rates or even fantastic sums sometimes if they are doing something special on a hard deadline. I pay well. I pay on time. I pay down payment. And I pay in full upon completion. I ask that they sell me the objects after the build, though I know it is an inconvenience for them to do that. Now...where's the floundering? Where's the problems?

I have no need for free architecture. I pay for it. Traxx never gave me a bill, but then, it would be surprising if he did, after the purchase price and tier bill and events time I spent for four months to promote his architecture, give him a place to shine with a huge impressive build (sandboxes are not sufficient), and events, dwell, organizational capacity. It would indeed be ungracious for him to do so.

OH, he's in it just for the fun? He's not in it for the business and I am? Give me a break. It's one of his constant refrains that he is a "professional architect" with "clients" and I am just a bum. And I don't use SL to support my RL, I have completely unrelated work. He is happy to pocket handsome sums from huge corporations. I take losses often because essentially what I am doing is non-profit work. And let's not forget the sale of land he extorted from me on Christmas Eve -- a piece of land he bought himself next to our group, that if set to sale on the open market would disturb the coherence of the group. He sold that land at market rates at a profit from my purchase of it, and got his "sandbox" where he is now. I guess paying something like $180US to a person unexpectedly out of the blue because he is on a rampage and deleting buildings and moving is "floundering" or is "taking advantage of free architecture"? Hardly. Let him justify THAT hehe. I await the day when he simmes down and examines these frightening damages he causes me and pays me back for some of them. It's really appalling.

Look at the communities I have done on a half dozen sims, Gwyn. Have you ever bothered with that? Look at the builds I have commissioned. Have you ever bothered? Look at my groups. No, they aren't the stellar feted things of Nexcom and Traxx Hathor and all of these other leading lights. But so what? SL has to have different levels of accommplishment, or it has no room for ordinary people. Once again, as tiresome as it sounds, this is the age-old story of the feted and the unfeted.

Perhaps we have looked at your history, Prokofy. Perhaps we've seen that you are the most hypocritical, duplicitous, arrogant, and obnoxious person who has ever lived. Consider yourself judged.

Let me explain the different between the white-cube-of-death my tenants built in your sim, and the white-cube-of-death Traxx built in the new sim, and I might add, another white-cube-of-death blocking my property in yet another sim.

-- Footprint -- the footprint of the skyscraper in the new sim, and its height, is way, way WAY larger than the small build on a mere 4096. Maybe the width isn't that much more, but hey, you surely will get it about the height!

--The builders are using this perch to attack me and my business, to scare away customers, and to accuse me of fraud, whereas my tenants are just tenants\

--The skyscraper dominates the entire sim. No one can live on that sim unless they decide to be part of the culture and life of a skyscraper. No more Tiki. In fact, W-HAT has built a giant black box of doom to be the pepper shaker to the white-cube-of-death's salt shaker precisely because this is the zeitgeist -- big uber-architects fed by uber-corporations invading the land and forcing newbie residents making a residential sim to scatter in alarm.

--The skyscraper is something you have to look at from 360 degrees of view corridor -- on a waterfront! Whereas my tenants' build is below the road, below the visible view corridor in that view line, and off to the side of your lot, so that unless you have develophed peripheral vision, you can ignore it and look out to the Linden sea.

--The white box of death in one sim blocking me is blocking me -- whereas the white box in your sim doesn't block anybody, and while the skyscraper in the new sim doesn't block anybody per se, it utterly chills residential habitation to a grinding halt.

I'm sorry this is so hard for you. I don't understand how it is blocking you. It wasn't that wide when I saw it. The building in Pimushe is much wider and is visible from the road. I don't have "overdeveloped" peripheral vision, but I do have normally developed periperhal vision and it pops up when I walk or take my innertube ride.

It seems to me to be the exact same thing. I don't see how you can't see this. Maybe because now the proverbial shoe is on the other foot. But trust me, it's the same.

1. The white cube of death in Portage physically blocks all water access to my property. I cannot sail a boat into my water property. I cannot look out from my waterfront past the cube.

2. The white cube of death in Calleta is just a huge overshadowing white skyscraper of death that is all wrong in a Tiki beach sim where people went residential on first land that was thankfully on the waterfront, which it never is. So it is out of place, domineering, and just blocks the entire horizon. The people building it also blocked my business literally with their accusations.

3. The white cube of death, which is not at all as deadly as these others, in Pimushe does not physically block your land or your view. You have a humongous property of what, 16k or 13k out the Linden sea with Linden road. This white cube is on your left side. You need not look at your left side. BTW, they turned it green to make it less of a glare after the discussions.

Give it up April, you just want to file your tier level with contiguous land and want to pressure a buy out of me. No sale.

it's not a w-hat build, it's my build, no one else in w-hat owns stuff on it. Also your uber corporation argument is invalid, this was my first land and I paid for it out of my own pocket by buying platinum upgrades for some of my friends and then buying their first land. It cost me quite a bit but I wanted to try owning land in SL. no corporate funding here folks.

Right now I'm just messing with the land tools and getting a feel for the new UI options. I held an dance earlier and gave away a 2000L money ball jackpot. I was negged about my land by a neighbor, but it was later reversed after we talked a bit. Turns out while trying to setup a group so that my friends can build on my land, I accidentally turned on the access list and my neighbor negged me for seeing ban lines on my property. Hopefully I can do something cool with the land once telehubs are put in. It's a pretty decent spot, near the entrance to the new continent, and according to chad (nexcom owner) there will be a telehub nearby soon as well.

Oh, I'm sorry, I thought you were a concerted "action" by W-HAT to join the fray. It's hilarious that you set your black-box-of-doom right next to the white-cube-of-death (well it's more of a rectangle than a cube). I thought it was deliberate. Um...we'll never know?
