From: Siggy Romulus but most of those you made up yourself.... and most the rest weren't directed at you either Be honest. That is not true. I spent months fighting for my right to speak on here as a real person, while being accused of being an alt. And that's just one thing. coco

From: Kendra Bancroft same here. I bought land before I knew one could get 1st land --and while I could technically argue that I shouldbe able to get first land with an alt. I won't. Why? Don't need to and Ano is right -- THAT's the point. First Land is designed to be a leg-up for newcomers. period. Then LET THE LINDENS tell us that. I'm not going to be made to feel bad by some people on the forum quoting things that happened ages before I got on board. (And something which some of them have doubtless done themselves.) When I decried the lack of First Land, and people glomming it up before newbies could get their "First" Land - i.e., me - I meant the ones that were getting the pile of reports in the Police Blotter, or land dealers buying it up with alts that they then delete. I never for a minute thought it meant that if I ever got a second account - a REAL permanent second account - and bought First Land with it - that I would be considered "gaming the system" unethically. But you know, it gets tiresome saying that over and over. coco

From: Weedy Herbst Yup, here we go again with the "I am a victim" shite again. Are you trying to deny that happened, Weedy? Or are you just one of those who beats up on people, then when they complain, says, "Shut up, weenie, or I'll beat you harder"? coco

Please don't insult my intelligence by telling me you didn't know this to be the case. It never ceases to amaze me that there are people in this world who assume just because something can be done that it should be done. Trust me --it's just as tiresome to read it over and over.

We will periodically bring the system down as needed for patches and maintenance, but your access time is now unrestricted. UPCOMING FEATURES Finally, I'd like to announce some upcoming enhancements to Second Life. Our residents have been instrumental in driving both our short-term bug lists and our long-range strategic planning, and I want to share our best estimates on what's to come. Soon, you'll be able to: * Elect community leaders and help govern Second Life yourselves * Find what you want even more easily - with improved mapping, directory search, and shopping capabilities * Hold bigger parties and get-togethers - with improved physical dynamics and support * Share Second Life with friends on Macintosh OS-X and Linux PC - with ports for both platforms * Enjoy an easier, more streamlined UI - with a redesigned User Interface (incorporating many of your suggestions and features) Remember, as a Beta Resident, you only have until June 23 to take advantage of these discounted rates, lifetime membership, and special poster and t-shirt offers. You will not be automatically enrolled if you don't convert your account by June 23. Click here to convert your account now. I look forward to welcoming you all in-world as a permanent part of Second Life society! See you on the inside, Philip Rosedale, CEO and Founder AKA Hacker Philip Linden

What the heck does this prove about anything you have said? I joined in Sept of 2003 (after this newsletter), and land tiers did not even come about until many months after I had joined (land for the landless even later). I'm confused why you would use this newsletter as evidence of anything. Is there a particular statement in there I'm missing?

Is that any worse than say... gaming the system then telling someone else they can't. I find that hypocritial at best. So I'm honest, I wouldn't have it any other way Mar

No, I don't know this to be the case. I assumed it meant First Land for the landless - as in EVERY NEW REAL ACCOUNT. And "gaming the system" would be using a bunch of alts to take advantage of it and delete them later. Which I am not doing. Though Cristiano in another thread gave a very good financial argument for why I should, or at least turn it back into a basic. Which, of course, I hadn't even THOUGHT of. Now if you can't see that interpretation of things, then that is YOU, not me. I am telling you what *I* saw it as. You are saying I am lying about it. I am not. It's that way in every other game!!!!! coco

From: Chip Midnight There are only two people in this thread who have admitted to gaming the system. Ironically it's you and Coco That is a lie, and you know it Chip. I have not admitted to gaming the system. If I were going to game the system, would I admit it? I mentioned buying First Land with my second account. That caused others to accuse me of being unethical and gaming the system. I say, I have NOT gamed the system. Therefore, I have not admitted to gaming the system. coco (P.S. Y'all love to toy with me this way, dontcha? )
