My mistake was only not making it clear enough. Not some kind of Freudian slip. You know me well enough to know by now I would not make the mistake of assuming EVERYONE who criticized me over that had done the exact same thing. That would be wrong and more than stupid.

I was looking for clarification on the new TOS and ran across that thread, and was shocked at the postings against Coco for it - and then asked Martin about it. I did the very same thing with an alt account just last week, and didn't think twice about it - I certainly didn't see anything wrong with it. I'm paying full price for that account, LL certainly isn't cutting me any cost breaks - so I assumed the price reduction for First Land was included.

I'm not trying to gouge the system, I'm not trying to take anything away from newbies. Just this past July when all of the land changes came about, Philip stated at a Town Hall that as the need for more land arose, they'd simply create more - and yes, I assumed that meant First Land as well.

I didn't buy land adjoining anything I already own, I bought a tiny plot in the middle of nowhere, so my alt could have its own home. So, feel free to let the blasting begin! Until LL says that what I (and others) did is wrong, I'm going to keep that tiny plot and I just won't invite any of you over for supper!

1 person is not 'people.' Why can't you just address the 1 person without having to exaggerate and dramatize it?

Well, the whole thing could have been avoided if I hadn't taken umbrage at being called unethical for buying First Land with my second account.

Or it could have been avoided if I'd just meekly accepted that characterization of me for doing that, and dropped the subject.

I think it is a good thing that it has been posted in the Hotline for clarification for all.

I had no idea I was doing anything wrong, and I'm sure there are bunches of others who have no idea, either.

Someone in the game told me last night, they just might not answer it in the Hotline. I sure hope they do.

I will try to be better in the future about that, Cristiano. I'm going to try to holler about it only where it concerns me. I can keep speaking out on my ideas about what the forum needs without having to take up anybody's particular cause. (But I do deserve the right to take up my own.)

first land, life time accounts and taxes are 3 seperate subjects. All of which have been used to get ahead with. I myself have been offered no less than 3 lifetime accounts from other players who had to many. I myself have bought first land with alt accounts and resold them for a tidy profit. I myself took the advice of an old timer and hid my money so it would not be taken in taxes. Just as many other ppl I know have. Some of which have made hypocrital statements to the contray against Coco. Name names? Not a chance, that would be a violation of the tos. Just as outting Alts is.

It's about Coco's accusations of others buying first land to game the system. Then she goes and does it herself. It's 100% hypocricy.

You already outted this alt, Catherine. You don't get to put the genie back in the bottle. Also, thank you for admitting that speaking of alts is against the TOS. Hopefully the abuse reports against you for your continued false statements about Nolan and I will get you warned.

I have never ever had a problem with you wanting to improve the forums, or your right to speak out about thinking it needs to be better. Hell, I would like to see it get better -some of the attacks of late have made me cringe. However, it has always been the double standard of it all that has driven me nuts. Speak all you like about what you think is right or wrong with the forums. Tell people what is wrong with their behavior, and then behave the same way or give someone else a free pass to do so, and it will end up coming back at you every time.

Land for the landless and First Land were both programs created specifically for new players to get a plot of land at $512L. It had nothing to do with taxes. People using their alt accounts to avoid their taxes has nothing to do with using an alt to buy a piece of land intended for someone who has never owned it before. I bought land within my first few minutes of being in SL, so I never used the land for landless or First Land program. Techinically, that would make me elligible to buy a plot now, but I wouldn't - because I don't need to get subsidized land. Neither did Cocoanut, that was the point. You keep trying to blur in a bunch of things because you think you have made some great point, but not much of what you have said makes any sense at all.
