On the topic, I didn't know about this early buying up of lifetime accounts, and I don't know if any of those who said I was unethical to buy a 512 First Land with my second account did that.

On the other hand, I've been told that people DO such things as these, snapping up lots of land to make their contiguous spots.

Common sense also tells me that probably most people - especially new people, who don't realize it is supposedly a huge no-no - who do get a second account and then also avail themselves of the 512 opportunity along with the other things that come with a new account.

I have explained that while I was against buying up all the First Land for one's own land business, or just to make a quick profit, may indeed be unethical. On the other hand, it may also just provide a better service, in that how much a lot costs is probably less important than that it is right next to your own lot. At least that is true in my case.

And I am pretty certain that others who criticized my action have done the same thing (some others, not all of the others) - bought a second account (a real account they intend to use) - and bought 512 with it, next to the land they already have.

I don't see why this thread would be shut down, unless it is just to shut Martin up. Is it considered reposting of an old thread? Does that mean one can never discuss the subject again?

I don't think that's what they mean by reposting an old thread. I've seen lots of threads closed, then the topic restarted by someone else. I think it means mainly reposting to complain about your old thread getting closed.

I criticized your actions, and I have never bought First Land. It came out long after I had land myself. And when I had to create my alt so I could form a group for a deed, I never dreamed of buying First Land with her. And I am sure I am not the only one.

So perhaps you should not be "pretty certain" about your claims.

Here, I will refocus it, or at least try to find the topic amidst your expletive filled tirade. There is a small problem with your statement. Even if someone were to have bought 15 lifetime accounts - which would have cost $3000 or so, they did not get land with it, only tier. They still had to buy land at market rates. I doubt there is anyone who actually owns that many lifetime accounts - the only person I ever knew who even had more than one lifetime account was Candy Apple, and she isn't even here anymore.

There is also no hypocrisy in it, as the 4096m tier is included with the account for $225, just as the $512/m is included for $9.95 a month. Tier did not exist at the time of the original lifetime accounts offered during beta - tier was not added until version 1.2 in December of 2003 - the same time they stopped selling lifetime accounts. The 4096m tier was not only included if you are a new user. First Land is specifically a program made for new users to get their very first plot of land. It is not set up for established players to get a plot of land cheaply.

You have absolutely no evidence that 4098s pick up land for resale. That is a blanket attack. You have no right to post imflammatory threads to justify you own hypocritcal posts.

When you needed first land, you were quick to point out, everyone was out to game the system. Now you gamed the system, and are justifying your reasons to do so, by spreading untruths in the community. It's pathetic and shameful.

I think it's pretty obvious that in this case Mr. Magpie is using the bad spelling as a kind of alternate "voice" for his role here today though.
