They are not illogical - if anything, they are hyperlogical - they will argue a point to its most miniscule conclusion to be right.

Not only that, I don't consider soccer mom a pejorative whatsoever, any more than I think of "ballet dancer" or "stockbroker" an insult.

It is merely a descriptive. Or a broad category representing the work and occupation of a large segment of the population: the modern-day stay-at-home mom.

When in that is any insult? If someone SEES an insult in that, it means that person really doesn't think very much of the soccer mom him/herself.

I'm waiting for them to discover the next logical rebuttle to what I said in my last post, regarding a logical question, a weakness in the argument of my post, something I didn't yet cover. There is a flaw, and it is specific. Will they notice it? It will lead to my next response, if they notice it. And if they do, I will give my answer to that.

Soccer Mom has come to be the derogatory term used for "Stay at Home Moms" who tend to be on the conservative side of issues. They are thought to be moms that will do anything to see their child excel, and their world be perfect. They are considered out of touch with real issues. Women who like to talk about "issues they could not possibly understand". They are the new doormat housewife that does what she is told and may as well be a ditz blonde.

Yes, and it is a very valid stereotype. Have you ever read the literature from People For The American Way? Give it a look-see sometime. Those are Soccer Moms and Scout Leader Dads. It's exactly what the stereotype is presenting, and it's very real, and very valid. ("It doesn't matter that I don't have children in this school district, and have never actually read the book, put my name down for wanting Catcher In The Rye banned from our schools!"

It isn't an insult to women, or to housewives, or to stay at home moms. It's an insult to a type of person who feels the need to butt their damn nose into everyone's business and try and 'fix' things that aren't broken and that often don't involve them anyway. But those people wouldn't see it as an insult, because they don't see anything wrong with trying to rule other peoples' lives and decide what's best for them.
