If God wants to go to all the effort of putting fossils and stuff in the ground to make me believe he doesn't exist, then I think I'll respect his wishes and believe he doesn't.

The Torah says G_D created the world. It dosn't say how. I have no problem with evolution and the concept of a creator. If I was G_D, I would create a system that can expand and adapt on it's own. Rather than having to micro manage every aspect of it. I find it rather insulting there are people who limit the power of the creator by saying he would never think up such a system. Rox We all don't have the same beliefs, but we can respect each others. However, apparently you choose not to. |

The myth of evolution is clearly a religious belief for those who reject the notion of a creator. At least the majority of the British know it's a big lie. Have a nice day ![]() Total Hogwash Typical Fundamentalist hit and run troll tactics on forums. The Law of Evolution is very proven. Live with it. |

god creating the world in like 6 days makes much more sence The genesis event was copied from Sumner etc sources. And May I say, I like the Genesis 2 account of creation, it was in an instant, no days. |

Myths fill in holes. As you just did. You made an example of how evolution is used as a myth. TY Sorry, I don't think he did, |

I have no religious beliefs. And you clearly know absolutely nothing about The Theory of Evolution (let alone what the word "Theory" means in this context) This has been discussed with you on numerous threads. I fully expect that even this one will drag on for endless pages of your severely ingnorant posturing. It is a common tactic with folks like you, however, to completely ignore facts in front of you and proceed to just repeat ad nauseum the superstitious beliefs you hold so dear until we all just throw up our hands in frustration. I have no idea why you wish to take the human race on a backwards march to the Dark Ages, but frankly I'm not buying what you're selling. Basically what the Fundamentalist want is the US to be reverted to the 1840's. If you know something about the Constitution, you will note that Amendment 13 was not in it then... One wonders about Fundamentalist who want the US reverted to 1840's... One wonders indeed |

Phoebe: I'm sorry, but sometimes they need help. That's fine. Go ahead and scoff. You know, there're a lot of things that I don't believe in, but that doesn't mean they're not true. Joey: Such as? Phoebe: Like crop circles, or the Bermuda triangle, or evolution? Ross: You don't believe in evolution? Phoebe: I don't know, it's just, you know...monkeys, Darwin, you know, it's a, it's a nice story, I just think it's a little too easy. Ross: Too easy? Too...The process of every living thing on this planet evolving over millions of years from single-celled organisms, too easy? Phoebe: Yeah, I just don't buy it. Ross: Uh, excuse me. Evolution is not for you to buy, Phoebe. Evolution is scientific fact, like, like, like the air we breathe, like gravity. Phoebe: Ok, don't get me started on gravity. Ross: You uh, you don't believe in gravity? Phoebe: Well, it's not so much that you know, like I don't believe in it, you know, it's just...I don't know, lately I get the feeling that I'm not so much being pulled down as I am being pushed. Ross: Ok, Pheebs. See how I'm making these little toys move? Opposable thumbs. Without evolution, how do you explain opposable thumbs? Phoebe: Maybe the overlords needed them to steer their spacecrafts. Ross: Please tell me you're joking. Phoebe: Look, can't we just say that you believe in something, and I don't. Ross: No, no, Pheebs, we can't, ok, because-- Phoebe: What is this obsessive need you have to make everyone agree with you? No, what's that all about? I think, I think maybe it's time you put Ross under the microscope. Ross: Is there blood coming out of my ears? Phoebe: Ok, Ross, could you just open your mind like this much, ok? Wasn't there a time when the brightest minds in the world believed that the world was flat? And, up until like what, 50 years ago, you all thought the atom was the smallest thing, until you split it open, and this like, whole mess of crap came out. Now, are you telling me that you are so unbelievably arrogant that you can't admit that there's a teeny tiny possibility that you could be wrong about this? And so endeth the lesson. _____________________

find it rather insulting there are people who limit the power of the creator by saying he would never think up such a system. I find it rather insulting that people WON'T SHUT THE FUCK UP about a god they love in a book they read. I get it already. You worship a magical god and everything you want to believe can somehow fit in your loosely defined belief system because your god has an "I Win" button. I get it, I truly do. That doesn't mean that the rest of the world should have abandon all intellectual curiosity because you do. Jesus Christ! Will you people find another damn book to read? _____________________

You are kidding, right? Even evolutionists admit humans didn't come from apes. You're right, we didn't. Both modern apes and us evolved from the same ancestor. I also love how you stopped posting when it became apparent that you lost this debate. |

I also love how you stopped posting when it became apparent that you lost this debate. It is also par for the course for the original poster. I think the forum regulars now regard these as a protracted game of "whack-a-mole": every so often, the original poster is moved to post again on the same inane topic and gets summarily stomped. Alas, like the arcade game "whack-a-mole" it does get a mite tedious after a while. |

"Debate" gives this way more credit than it deserves. It is also par for the course for the original poster. Alas, like the arcade game "whack-a-mole" it does get a mite tedious after a while. Yes but finding more inventive ways to play whack-a-mole is a source of entertainment for me ![]() _____________________

In the words of an Aussie lay priest and one the most brilliant men I have ever met -Evoltion explains genisis it does not negate it. Simply ask your self this, if you went back to ancient greece and asked a grecian his/her creation story you would hear about the gods and they would affirm their strong belief in it. Now we fairly well know that it was a false belief. Relgious based creation myths gods or genenis are all just that, ways of explaining what at the time we could not understand. God has given us minds that reason and science to help us understand the methodology of how she works so we may better understand her and grow closer to god.

Where did you get the notion the British think evolution is a big lie...... Let me guess where you usually get your "facts", from up your arse...... No need to get emotional. "Andrew Cohen, editor of Horizon, commented: "I think that this poll represents our first introduction to the British public's views on this issue. "Most people would have expected the public to go for evolution theory, but it seems there are lots of people who appear to believe in an alternative theory for life's origins." When given a choice of three descriptions for the development of life on Earth, people were asked which one or ones they would like to see taught in science lessons in British schools: 44% said creationism should be included 41% intelligent design 69% wanted evolution as part of the science curriculum." http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/4648598.stm Get over the fact Evolution is becoming less acceptable every day. |

For those who dont believe.
Unless you are enlightend, No matter how much you think you know, Don't try to understand. If you have enough faith, Everything can be gained from religon. Science is a tool of the devil. All you need is faith. Really, thats it. Everything else will follow. Ridiculous as it might seem. Eventually it will be shown. That we were created by a higher being. Any other opinion is heresy. Revelation comes to those who pray. Don't fall for the tricks of science. Everyone will know in time Destiny awaits us all. http://www.venganza.org/ |

You're right, we didn't. Both modern apes and us evolved from the same ancestor. Tell that to those who think humans evolved from apes, they are still believing the old "lie" that hasn't been taken from text books yet I also love how you stopped posting when it became apparent that you lost this debate. I was out on the boat for the afternoon. You should try getting some fresh air, it does wonders for the attitude. ![]() |

Somehow I'm expecting a lot of the UK "creationists" to be dead in a decade or two... Actually the reverse is true. Those who accepted evolution were the older crowd. Younger people are steering away from it. "The one interesting fact to come from the survey is that "participants over 55 were more likely to choose evolution over other groups, while those under 25 were most likely to opt for intelligent design."* http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/01/26/evolution_claim/ |
