Show me where that was overruled and we'll talk.

this is not what I was looking for, but it is a start. I will keep trying to find the list of things you prolly do now but would have you killed if you followed the rules of the old testament

From: someone
That may be why, even though Jesus is quoted as saying in Matthew 5:17 that “not one letter, not one stroke of a letter, will pass from the law until all is accomplished,” he still let his disciples pluck grain on the Sabbath, even though the Old Testament prohibits it. His reason? “His disciples were hungry,” (Matthew 12:1). This was sufficient reason, according to Jesus, to break the Old Testament law to Keep the Sabbath Holy (one of the 10 Commandments that we’re told so much should be in courtrooms and classrooms).

Maybe that’s why many modern Christians don‚t see anything sinful about eating pork or anything “in the waters that does not have fins and scales,” (Leviticus 11:12), like shrimp (which, instead of scales, have those thin little exoskeletons that you have to peel off when you eat them) and other goodies found on seafood restaurant menus. Jesus disregarded Levitical law when his disciples g’ot hungry.

Oh, nice. I mention the Bible and you specifically mention Christ. No, Christ did not personally speak on homosexuality, but the Bible-the word of God-speaks very clearly on the topic.

Leviticus 18:22 (KJV): "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind it is abomination."

Vivi, if you're just going to be contrary you can leave. :p

Now...pardon me while I go edit that to make myself correct...

None of that changes the facts that this bill is bad...Catholics are bad...and Kendra is really really bad.

...and Neehai is straight...

I know a member of the Black Rose didn't just quote the Old Testament.

Please Mary. I haven't got time for the pain.

Resent all you want, Sio. It's not your faith I'm questioning-it's your adherance to the teachings of which you claim to be a disciple that I am questioning based on the positions you've taken in these forums.

Do you really think that Christ, the one who said "Suffer the children to come unto me" would support the killing of the unborn? Get real.

I suppose you think Catholic priests should be marrying same sex couples, too. Yeah, that doesn't fly in the face of what the Bible teaches.

And Ted "DUI" Kennedy is the best example of a Catholic you could come up with? Ted Kennedy!?

On the other hand, it goes a long way to explaining your leniency toward child molestors-I mean if we killed them all-the Catholic church would have a lot of vacancies.

-Kiamat Dusk

How do you know how I adhere to the teachings of my religion? Just because I'm pro choice and believe women should have access to birth control doesn't mean that I'm not adhering to the teachings of Catholicism myself. I've never personally had an abortion nor do my husband and I use birth control. I don't think that gives me the right to tell others what they should do, though. I take my faith seriously and I truly resent your implication that I'm not adhering to the teachings of my religion.

Also, show me a post I've written that advocates leniency toward child molestors. I don't remember making such a statement.

Sure did. Show me in the Bible where it says slavery is a sin. :D Besides, I don't judge what two (or more) consenting adults do with whips and chains and cuffs and floggers and liquid latex and candle wax and various insertables in the privacy of a public dungeon be it The Crucible or The Playhouse. That is between them and God.

..and who is Mary? Is that your girl friend? :p

God will forgive you for a lot of things.

Living in Columbia, Maryland isn't one of them.

I guess you were the one who brought the tractor to the party that night.

Why do Republicans hate women so much?

Why do women hate women so much?

As a female republican I just hate myself more everday! OMGZ!

What we have overal is a system that is biased to men with dick issues and ignores the needs of women. Women deserver better than birth control pills, injections, and artifical devices.

Also, does anyone care about all the working women who have insurance that does not cover birth control? If I pay for insurance, my insurance should cover birth control. Only one insurance company so far in my professional career has.

Off topic...

I received my Republican Census in the mail yesterday. The census asks what opinions are on hot topics. The questions on social issues are..

Do you support President Bushes initiative to allow private and religious charitable groups do more to help those in need?

Do you support the law banning partial birth abortions?

Do you support the Presidents efforts to save Social Security for futuer generations?

Do you think Congress should pass legislation on the Federl Marriage Amendment?

Nothing on birth control...

All was finished when Christ was crucified in the sense Christ had finished the mission. Jesus died on the cross to fulfill prophesy, that Christ would be able to open the seals of the book of Revelation.. That Christ's sacrifice would allow us access to the kingdom....

Paul had a vision concerning the eating of meat that was not kosher, that's why Christians can eat it.

Also, Jesus' point concerning the Sabbath was that it was a day of rest for the people. He tried to explain that the Sabbath shouldn't be a burden, but a blessing. Jesus said the Sabbath was created for man (people), not man for the Sabbath.

It's wonderful people can get government funded rubbers, so they can save their money for cigarettes and booze.

Let's put this in perspective. The Nuva ring, a very safe and effective monthly form of birth control costs $50 a month without health insurance. This particular method is preferred for women with a history of cancer in their family because it's very low, localized dosage.

Perhaps you think people are choosing booze and cigarettes over birth control, but that says more about you than it does about reality. For many people, those with full time jobs and no health insurance, they are paring down their necessaties to afford things like these (or basic meds). Oh, and that includes married couples who can't afford more children, or children at the moment.... so don't play the "whore" card like you have in other threads.

That just makes you Catholic in word not deed. Just like these terrorists in the Middle East are "Muslims". No, I'm not saying you're terrorists. I'm saying that you can claim to be whatever you want-doesn't make it so. I can claim to be homosexual until the cows come home, but if I only have sex with women...well that just makes me a well dressed heterosexual.

Look at Neehai. Same thing. Swears he's gay-clearly a breeder.

I am baffled at why Kiamat seems so obsessed with Neehai's sexual orientation. Personaly, I only care about that if I want to have sex with someone.
