Oh, thank you thank you thank you! Consider yourself hugged! This was an enormous help to me! Now I can actually test the clothes I have been designing offline and not uploading for fear it would be horriblily misaligned/lopsided or that I had messed up the alpha channel and just threw 10L$ out the window per piece for something i would end up deleting in world. Ah what a relief! TY!

I had a dream about a tool like this. In the dream it was an Extensis-like Photoshop plugin that worked with an SL avatar in an IMVU-like environment with full light, camera, and slider functionality. This is a great start on something that is much needed! Johan, I hope you find the time and resources to develop this further.

That error is when the program tries to use a piece of data that doesn't exist, usually because a file wasn't able to load. A bit of useless trivia for you guys: MAVs are the most common error by far in the development tool I'm using, so common that they are referred to by acronym.
This error could be caused by a number of things, but if you are getting this error when just double-clicking the exe then I'm guessing the problem is that you haven't unpacked the zip file. Windows does this annoying thing where if you double-click a zip file you see its contents but the file isn't unpacked yet; you have to extract it before you can use the software.

Feeling a bit foolish

Thanks for your help I had extracted only the .exe file. When I extracted all the contents, then it worked. Thanks for this great program

Okay, I just uploaded an updated version. Now it has alpha for the skirt.
Note that when you load .tga images the previewer assumes it has an alpha channel and sets it appropriately. If you don't want to use alpha, make sure to use a .bmp image.
This is version 1.21

Great tool, or so I'm guessing from the responses.
Mark me down as casting a vote for a Mac version.
*sigh*

if you need testers feedback i'll be happy to be of use looking at the latest version , found this bug when setting a tga alpha to the skirt it works for the first time but when hitting refresh alpha is turned off on the skirt object and won't come back on until you select a different file

Thanks for the bug report. When I did alpha for the skirt last night, I just slapped it in and didn't take time to test it. btw, is this problem only the skirt? I made some changes last night that may have screwed up texture refresh for all the parts, not just the skirt. ADDITION: By the way everyone, I definitely appreciate all the thanks! I just wanted to point that out, since I've not been responding to the "thank you"s individually.

only for the skirt following on chosen idea is it possible to fix the tumble roll to make it easier to focus on the parts you need , how about support resizing the rendering window for a better view (looks small on highres)

I just uploaded another update. I fixed refreshing alpha textures on the skirt, so please test that.
EDIT: Crap, it still doesn't work. Okay, give me a minute and then test it.
EDIT2: Okay, now test it.

I haven't tried it yet but I bet it's wonderfulllllllll, it's getting coverage everywhere from personal blogs to popular fashion mags you know, woowoo!!
A little thing I think could help however is adding the "version" number to your 1st post in the thread (in the name of the file). So we know if we are downloading the latest, you know?
Each time you make a change write something like version 1,2,3,4... etc or 1.2, 1.3 etc
Lemme hug you, *HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGSSSSSSSS*
:D

Too bad the exposure isn't translating into traffic at my store As for the version numbers thing, I always forget to do that. I can't change the readme in the zip file until tonight, but I'll change it and my first post here to start listing a version number. I guess I'll just set this latest version as like 1.21 or something and go from there.

If you like this wonderful tool Johan has contributed to the community, please support him by visiting his Motion Merchant shop. He's got the classiest, most natural two-person animations I've seen in Second Life. If you're in business you *need* to buy his handshake!
