What I stopped doing in SL? More or less everything I used to. Now I only make anything when someone asks me to, I only go somewhere when invited... I gave up teaching, I rarely even activate my Live Help tag any more... There's no challenge left. It's all about money now, and well, the game I joined almost 3 years ago isn't the same.

Actually I do very little of what I used to do in SL, but it has more to do with RL than anything in SL. Currently I only log on to chat to friends, do customer service, and wring my hands over my inventory. Considering that in the last year I have (1) made an international move, (2) then made a cross-US move, (3) unloaded 240 lbs of useless fathead, and (4) started working full time again, I just don't have the free time or energy to build and create. Or I could just blame DDO. Maybe I'm insulated owning Chaos, but I don't see that SL has gone downhill. It is certainly larger. And there are very unusual subgroups. And it is a bit more difficult to meet new people who share my attitudes and interests. There is still a large creative group of people who, although they may get paid for what they do, still do it because they enjoy the process. Maybe I'm just lucky in my friends. If I was going to complain about anything in SL it would be that some people seem addicted to drama. But that's true of RL too. One of the things I love about SL is that I can neglect it while tending to my RL or even to other hobbies or pursuits. It persists and, like an old friend, I can pick up where I left off after extended absences.

From: Surreal Farber (4) started working full time again, I just don't have the free time or energy to build and create. Or I could just blame DDO. Surreal, you've made me feel better. I've been bashing myself on the head because I have always been artistic, always had tons of ideas in my head but with a family and a full time job, by the time I log on to SL I just want to relax and have some fun. So all the projects I've started are sitting there unfinished, making me feel guilty. From: someone If I was going to complain about anything in SL it would be that some people seem addicted to drama. But that's true of RL too. I don't get how anyone can be addicted to such messy stuff. That said, it has tended to follow me around relentlessly until I just refused to engage it any more. From: someone One of the things I love about SL is that I can neglect it while tending to my RL or even to other hobbies or pursuits. It persists and, like an old friend, I can pick up where I left off after extended absences. Amen. Last winter I think I got burned out. I logged off SL for a couple months and did other things, including some EQ2 and COV. When I decided to come back, there it was. Many of my friends had left but I've made new ones. And nobody outlevelled me to where I couldn't group with them any more

Logging in. The severe packet loss that I can't seem to track down is making for a most unenjoyable platform. Why log in , when all you can do is stand around in your home watching the packet loss spike from 0 to 30/50% constantly.

OMG Siobhan I feel the same way! I swear I was sure I would miss logging in daily for 12+ per. but nope not a bit. I'm checking out other online worlds and being creative in my real life space again. SL is just not the same, and frankly I don't care for the new SL. I keep an eye on things of course who knows it might change. I doubt it, but I still hope another online world opens soon that was the SL I fell in love with. More power to LL go get that cash, I'm sorry it ended this way but they gotta do whats best for Philips' pocketbook, and I understand that too. Don't like it, but I understand it. Hugz you tight Sio Cat

From: Tod69 Talamasca I stopped transporting underage dolphins across sims for illegal porpoises. Does that mean Flipper'll have to find his own now?
