From: Peregrine]No, you're a negative whiner who's paranoid of change and anything that challenges your extremely narrow world-view. Let's examine the desire to be part of the community; here are Lewis's most recent threads started (foregoing ones that can not be replied to): Thread 1: Essential community news..... in a blog? /108/65/117803/1.html aka WHINING about Linden Lab making information easier to access! YE GADS! Thread 2: I see the L$ is losing value again /130/54/117899/1.html Wow, my heart bleeds, though why do you care? I thought this was "a game, and ONLY a game." Thread 3: Arbitrarily locking threads? /108/87/117677/1.html Gee, Lewis complains again, that's three in a row, I'm SHOCKED. Thread 4: New signin .... how pathetic /108/c8/116894/1.html Gawd, I didn't know anyone could sound this negative. While I don't agree with everything the Lindens do, I try to offer SOLUTIONS instead of being a pathetic sounding whiner. If it that pathetic, surely you can do better; I expect to see NerdWorld launched within the year. Thread 5: Collecting information about your computer? /108/6d/116664/1.html Okay, first you're complaining about the lack of registration, then you complain about the invasion of privacy by displaying registration status. There's the top five, all whiny sounding complaint threads. Amongst other recent highlight threads from Mr. Nerd: "Sandboxes....... aaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrggggggggghhhhhh ", "Forum lag... I wonder...", "Complaint: Second Life Views", "Texture cacheing broken again". Is there ANYTHING you're positive about? You, sir, define the term "troll" repeatedly, you intentionally call the Second Life platform a game just to piss people off, and continue to strut about this place as if its your living room. It isn't - its Linden Lab's. And by the way - you've been here long enough to have figured out THAT THE COMPANY THAT MAKES SECOND LIFE IS CALLED LINDEN LAB, NOT LINDEN LABS, YOU MORON! There is ONE lab, not TWO, not THREE - ONE. New citizens - you know, ones that have LESS than 2000 trolling posts in the forums - are allowed to get away with the mis-spelling . You're not. So get it right. Singular. Not plural. Capiche ?! Jeez, I can't believe you even complain about LL trying to make communication better. I'm sure essential announcements will still be made to the announcements forum - Robin's blog is more in-depth thoughts about the future of SL. Also, be sure to read the above post about news aggregators and RSS feeds. Sheesh . -Flip OH Dear you made me spit my coffee and Laugh my fucking ass off because every word you wrote is so true. funny how the truth can be so funny and for the record I love Robins blog I think it as an official Linden Lab s (wink wink) sight

I've stickied this thread to help communicate what we're doing for the community and make it easier to find Robin's blog, Be The Change. Please refrain from personal attacks on one another, however--keep the discussion vibrant and healthy! =^_^=

Hopefully IMPORTANT announcements will still be posted in the announcement forum with a link to the appropriate blog for details. I agree, checking ALL the blogs for news is tedious. If it's an important change or a response to a change please make it very obvious that we need to read it.

I agree, checking ALL the blogs for news is tedious. If it's an important change or a response to a change please make it very obvious that we need to read it. Once again, here is what is being bitched about: From Robin Linden's post in announcements: "Update: Open Registration With tomorrow's release we'll be implementing the first phase of changes to address the concerns many of you have raised about open registration. You will be asked to agree to a new terms of service that reference changes to the Privacy Policy. Please see the most recent blog post for more details." As you can see, it was in announcements, where you would expect to find it. One click takes you to more details. I think that satisfies your criteria of: "If it's an important change or a response to a change please make it very obvious that we need to read it." From: Kim Manilow You people don't get it. Don't force me to read a blog. NO TIME. If it's essential put it in announcements. Pretty simple really. For real? It takes one second tops for you to wait for the page to load after you click through from announcements.. If you don't have time to read the extra information after waiting that whole second, then you don't have time to read that extra information if it was contained in the initial post either.

You do realise, I assume, that unlike the forums where we are able to start threads on any subject we wish, on the blog we can only comment on subjects chosen by the blog creator - meaning that issues we consider important may never be discussed.
So we're "relegated" to having to discuss them on the forums, where in the main they are ignored, at least if recent behaviour is anything to go by.

Dude: You're talking about something in announcements. You can't respond to anything in announcements directly. So you're already one up in a blog if there is an opportunity to comment on the subject. If there isn't, then you face the same situation you have with an announcements post, ie, you have to discuss it elsewhere on the forums. "Relegated" to discussing it on the forums? According to your own words, this is the one-stop shop for such matters. According to your own words, it shouldn't be discussed in a blog, but on these forums: From: Lewis Nerd These are the official forums. This is where things should be announced, this is where things are discussed. Not some third party blog, even if it is written by a Linden. 'Nuff said.

Yes, it makes me feel like a 'second class citizen', and only reinforces the thought from recent action where Linden Lab refuse to take action against another forum poster because he is seen as "important" and therefore above the rules, yet the police blotter shows a warning issued to another poster for the exact same thing.
It doesn't matter how good you are, how much you do in Second Life, or anything... if you kiss Linden arse you can do anything, if you don't, then tough.
I don't suppose for one minute that some of those people who think I'm upset about everything have ever considered that they would feel the same if they had to put up with the crap I do in SL.

I don't suppose for one minute that some of those people who think I'm upset about everything have ever considered that they would feel the same if they had to put up with the crap I do in SL. For those playing at home, this translates into: "I can't be held accountable for my own misery and negativity, so it must be everyone else's fault, and not my own. Rather than reply to a detailed set of research on my actions, I'll label them a personal attack. The only way anyone can be happy in Second Life is to bribe the Lindens." Torley warned not to let this devolve into personal attacks; she did not say that any were already present in the thread, and I don't think she would of stickied it is she considered there were. Lewis, I say this with all sincerity, if Second Life causes you to consistently lash out with this much disdain and negativity, the psychology major in me sees that SL not doing your mental health (or any of ours) any good. You may want to seriously consider an extended break or to leave altogether if it causes you to act so negatively and act so persectured. Don't take my word on it; ask your doctor. Regards, -Flip

Actually you are directly the cause of at least one problem of Linden inconsistency, and proof that there is not equal treatment for all residents.
So you can cut all your "psychology major" crap straight away. I didn't ask for your analysis, and quite frankly I don't want it.

This is standard Lewis Nerd fare. When shown to be categorically and undeniably incorrect, even in your own words, you flip to a new tangent to dodge having to acknowledge you were wrong. From: Lewis Nerd Yes, it makes me feel like a 'second class citizen' If you're referring to our exchange above, how does having to respond to a blog on the forums make you feel like a second class citizen? We are all in the same position in this scenario, therefore this argument is invalid. From: Lewis Nerd , and only reinforces the thought from recent action where Linden Lab refuse to take action against another forum poster because he is seen as "important" and therefore above the rules, yet the police blotter shows a warning issued to another poster for the exact same thing. It doesn't matter how good you are, how much you do in Second Life, or anything... if you kiss Linden arse you can do anything, if you don't, then tough. How do these two seperate matters relate? One doesn't reinforce the other, they are completely unrelated. Refused to take action? Have they told you they refuse? There is a big difference between not editing something, and refusing to edit something. If you AR'ed it, well you'll have to wait, it was posted overnight, and LL won't be open yet. Even then you won't know if the poster got a warning or other disciplinary action, unless you manage to glean it from the blotter. Torley did what she often does in these instances, to everyone, warns people not to attack each other, and gives the thread a chance to get back on track. Otherwise people bleat about heavy-handed moderation. If they are inconsistent on these matters, from my observations, they are equally inconsistent to all. Yesterday a new resident/anonymous alt called someone an arsehole. Myself and others ARed it (others stated so in subsequent posts), it may have been dealt with somehow, but the offending remarks were not edited. From: Lewis Nerd I don't suppose for one minute that some of those people who think I'm upset about everything have ever considered that they would feel the same if they had to put up with the crap I do in SL. You dish out crap all the time, that's why you get it back. You might not use words like moron about a resident, but you make far more offensive assertions about their motivations and characters. You were negative about everything from the moment you entered the forums, before anyone had a chance to give you any crap. Therefore your negativity is not a response to said crap. You're also contradicting yourself. Lately you've been telling us all about the wonderful IMs you get from people agreeing with you. How people in-world are telling you how much they agree with you. You flip from 'Lewis the martyr', to 'Lewis the hero', whenever it suits your argument. I had a far longer response, but I moderated myself.

Lewis I DARE you to prove any of the aforementioned statements to be lies. Support your arguments with proper quotes and proof. Don't forget the citations. We are going out for the day. I anxiously await your proof of these lies. Don't forget an opinion does not necessarily constitute a universal truth. Go on, prove our lies wrong.... Show us the truth...

Show us the truth... Quite easy. 1) Look at the Police Blotter. Someone recieved a warning for using the word "moron" on the forums. 2) Flipper's post calls me a 'moron'. 3) It has been reported to Lindens, resmods etc several times and the offensive post remains. 4) Nothing has been done, giving proof of unequal behaviour. 5) Being a holiday should be nothing to do with non action. 24 hour support is required in a 24 hour game.
