How utterly despicable of Linden Labs to make you "agree to the new TOS" without identifying in any way what has changed, and what you are agreeing to. It's pages and pages of legal crap that confuse the average player.

Why, oh why, should it be so hard to simply highlight the changes to the TOS, and provide a link to the FULL TOS if you wish to read the whole kaboodle?

This is a new low, even for you, LL. I'm going to end up wasting 20 minutes ploughing through this legal jargon trying to figure out what you're conning me into signing up as agreeing to.

This is not the first nor will it be the last time the TOS was changed and this method used. It is pretty much SOP.

Forum: "What is going to protect us from having sex with children and being sued?!"

I can only think of Lewis and how they forced him to read something. It may or may not be the reason why he signs each of his post with his name, even though there's a freaking picture of him with his name above it on ever post, just incase we forget who the person that is complaining about nothing is by the time we reach the end.

If it is "hidden", then potentially every single one of us who play.

How is this wrong? Every on-line game I have played has a TOS with no highlighted areas. Even when they change. WoW has a TOS and a game rules page you have to agree to EVERY TIME they update or make changes to the game. I think the OP has selected an appropriate last name for himself.

Why do you keep bitching about this all over the place? It's a simple hardware hash that can identify your machine. All kinds of software uses this. Try buying an E-Book and then reading it on another computer - it will not let you - the hash is different on the 2nd computer.

They not "installing spyware", nor are they "browsing your personal information". You and the other few here who are spreading this disinformation should do a little research on the topic first.

I think this is a good step by Linden Lab.

And yes previous updates HAVE required us to agree to a new TOS prior to logging in.
