Honestly don't see what the big deal is...the TOS is just there so if you screw up, LL can kick you to the curb. If you're a well behaved lil' boy/girl, then it shouldn't be a problem. Not every corporation with a popular product is out to screw you. The LL guys are actually pretty cool. Met them a little over a year ago when my job sent me to San Francisco. Definitely don't seem like the "cornhole ya when you're not looking" kind of people. They gave me a free T-Shirt, a bunch of promo CDs, and a SL notebook. What kind of evil corporation does that? But I digress. Every time the TOS is changed, it's most likely because some idiotic SL'er has tried to screw LL over in a way they didn't think of previously, hence an update to the TOS. Paranoia only works when everyone is actually out to get you.

Guess I'll go against popular opinion here and agree with Lewis. The TOS changes should be easier to read. Why not? And wouldn't they want people to really read the rule changes rather than saying "yeah, yeah, let's get on with it then" and hitting Continue?

How utterly despicable of Linden Labs to make you "agree to the new TOS" without identifying in any way what has changed, and what you are agreeing to. It's pages and pages of legal crap that confuse the average player. Why, oh why, should it be so hard to simply highlight the changes to the TOS, and provide a link to the FULL TOS if you wish to read the whole kaboodle? This is a new low, even for you, LL. I'm going to end up wasting 20 minutes ploughing through this legal jargon trying to figure out what you're conning me into signing up as agreeing to. I am disappointed. Very disappointed. If you're interested, the key changes are:
- LL explicitly denies any responsibility for adult-child interactions, and makes no guarantees that any one in either the MG or the TG is of the appropriate age. - LL collects hardware data and hashes it to make a hardware based ID to track griefers. |

And yes previous updates HAVE required us to agree to a new TOS prior to logging in.
